Open Call! Submit for Free to Flora Fiction Literary Magazine

When you think of having courage, or being courageous, do you think of yourself? Who do you think of? We all have courage. We have courage to put ourselves out there, and whether or not people will accept us is not up to us. We have courage to put our art out there, even if no one will ever see it.

International FITA Awards of Literature 2022

FITA - Friends In The Arts presents the International FITA Awards of Literature 2022 on the following categories: Chronicle, Essay, Poetry, Short Story, and Theater.

The jury is composed by Bruno Persico, Jorge Vaz de Carvalho, Nuno Abreu e Lima, Sara Belo Luís and Teresa Carvalho.

The competing works must be written in one, and only one, of the following languages: Portuguese; English; or Italian language.

Submissions deadline is May 31st, 2022.

Theme: New Beginnings 

For the past two years, many have been asking, "When will we get back to normal?" The stark reality is, we are living in the "New Normal." As we learn to accept our situation as it is, we enter 2022 with new hopes, dreams, and desires to shed the negativity from the past.  

What is your new beginning? Is it letting go of past hurt, or working toward a goal? Or it could simply be being more of who you are. 222 is considered an "angel number" and can be seen as  “beginning,” which ties in with its meaning as a representation of a new start. What are you trying to begin (or begin again)? Let 2022 fuel your desire to achieve your dreams.

Poetry Collaborations

We are seeking performers for the final event of our Winter of Poetry season; Poetry Collaborations. Each artist is invited to share a performance of collaboration between poetry and another medium of their choice.

We are hosting artists both locally and via Zoom, so location is not an issue.

We’d love to hear from you! Send us your Poetry Collaboration proposal by Friday, February 18th and please get in touch with any questions!
