Call for Project Proposals –PlySpace // Eclipse

PlySpace, the artist-in-residence program of the Muncie Arts and Culture Council (Munciearts.org), is seeking regional artists with project proposals that can be completed during a short-term residency (two to four weeks) between February 15th and April 9th. Project proposals must center around or be complimentary to the upcoming solar eclipse, which will occur on April 8th, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana. Muncie is a primary viewing location for the eclipse and expects to have over 100,000 visitors during the Eclipse Muncie weekend celebration, from April 5th and April 9th.

Lift the Sky

Artists worldwide are invited to participate in the global art project, Lift the Sky. It is a project connecting us through art. Artists are invited to answer the question, "what's your message to the world?" and respond with an 18" w x 24" l -vertical artwork- created on fabric, canvas or paper to be attached to fabric. These messages are then added to the website with a link to the artist's website and then along with two other messages are sewn into 6' hanging panels. The first installation is a planned exhibition at Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad, CA early in 2023. As the project continues to grow we will show in other venues and countries. Let's be a voice for something bigger and better than what we see going on around us and in the media.

Picture This

Picture This is a global competition that encourages creative video projects championing the protection and preservation of the environment. Set up to reward creatives interpreting environmental and social concerns of our time, Picture This calls all video-makers to raise awareness and inspire action for the planet. 

 

If you are an independent video-maker, animator, part of a collective or video production company – large or small – we want to see your projects! 

Enter your 1 minute video responding to the 2022 brief, The Time to Act is Now! Winning entries will be showcased on the Sony Picture Television network, at the Picture This Festival and events held by the United National Foundation and the World Photography Organisation - plus more!

City of Vincent Film Project

The film project provides early-career filmmakers with the opportunity, support and funding to make a short non-fiction work that demonstrates their filmmaking talents. The project aims to reflect the City of Vincent by showcasing local stories, characters and urban legends in Vincent. Proven to be a useful stepping stone into the screen industry, the City of Vincent is proud to have been running the project since 2005.

Now in the project's fifth year of partnership with the Revelation Perth International Film Festival, grant recipients are provided with ongoing support and $7,000 funding. The resulting films will premiere in July 2022 at the Revelation Perth International film festival at Luna Leederville.
