OPEN CALL - RAKE COMMUNITY 2021: PRACTITIONERS-IN-RESIDENCE

Calling artists, researchers, writers, data analysts, journalists, activists, academics, scientists, community groups, curators, photographers, poets and everyone else to submit to RAKE Community 2021: Practitioners-in-Residence!

RAKE Community is an autonomous platform for practitioners to develop research-based visual enquiries. It aims to build a framework for socially and politically driven projects while promoting accessible exchange outside of traditional routes or institutions.

BEUYS RESEARCH GRANT

To mark the 100th birthday of Joseph Beuys and to honour the town twinning between Poland’s capital Warsaw and the state capital Düsseldorf, we are pleased to invite two professional artists based in Warsaw to attend a 14-day research residency in Düsseldorf, preferably in July 2021. There is no age restriction. The submission of a research project proposal on the work of Joseph Beuys is required. During the stay, it is recommended to benefit from the extensive programme of the anniversary year, listed at beuys2021.de.

The selected artists are awarded a one-time scholarship of 500 euros each. Travel costs are covered and accommodation (one-room apartment) is provided.

PARL invites performance art makers and groups to join a 10 days research and development program in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 22 - 31 August 2021.

The program is open for performance art, devised theater, contemporary dance, intermedia projects and hybrid forms. PARL provides every participant a studio space and presentation venue.

The TAKING TIME / PRENDENDO TEMPO Residency Programme is designed to support research, study and/or the development of new work.

Applications are open to creative practitioners such as visual artists, film makers, writers, performance artists, curators, designers, musicians, theatre-makers and researchers who work either individually or collaboratively. Individuals and groups are welcomed. Interdisciplinary applications from creatives who work across disciplines are encouraged.

Submerge

Aquatic wildlife and human relationships with watersheds

Submerge is a research residency for artists interested in water. The week long residency will facilitate 12 – 15 workshops, lectures and excursions lead by scientists and ecologists who work with water.

The program will focus on biodiversity and ecology but also feature lessons on history, infrastructure and physics.

Workshop on Underwater sound recording.

Visit the Hogs Back Lock keeper and learn about how the canal works.

Visit the Water & Ice Research Laboratory to learn about diatoms, freshwater microbes and microplastics.
