Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop is offering one artist access for three months to one of its spectacular 350 square foot studio spaces, with both natural and professional lighting. The next residency session will take place from May to August 2019.

Modern Composition with Gavin Bryars

Check out the report on Gavin's 2018 session here.Gavin Bryars is without a doubt one of the world's most celebrated living composers. He emerged to the musical establishment in the early sixties, playing bass with improvisers Derek Bailey and Tony Oxley - his relationship with improvisation was short lived, and by the late 60's he was working with John Cage, Cornelius Cardew and John White. His first major works - The Sinking of the Titanic (1969), originally released on Brian Eno's Obscure label in 1975, and Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet (1971) - were released in new versions in the 1990s, selling over a quarter of a million copies.

For Now that’s what I call an artist’s residency! art writer, Artforum contributor and PRAKSIS co-founder Rachel Withers invites applications from anyone who’d like to spend a month with PRAKSIS in Oslo, developing their art practice. Workers in any medium or art-oriented practice (criticism, art theory, art history) will be considered. She challenges you to send us the most ingenious, original and practical month-long work plan you can cook up.

Self-Directed Artist in Residence Program

Indulge in an affordable Self-Directed Artist Residency in the historic Caetani heritage house in Canada's wine country - the Okanagan Valley of BC. The self-directed residencies are open to emerging and established artists, writers and creatives (of all disciplines) for a timeframe between 2 weeks to 3 months.

Number of Participants

You are welcome to apply as an individual, as artistic collaborators, and as couples. Our 3 residencies consist of 3 private rooms sharing a second floor suite including bathroom, kitchen, living room, library and main floor entryway.

Open Call: Blekinge Dance Residency

We are happy to announce that the application for this year's residency is open!​​

Apply before: the 10th of March 2019. (The decision will be announced by the 31st of March.)
Residency period: 5th of August - 31st of August 2019. 
We offer three residencies: one for four weeks and two for two weeks each.
Location: Ronneby kommun, in eastern Blekinge.

We are reserving one of the spots for artists who are still in, or whom has recently graduated from their education. ​
