Litmus Open Call: Parts 4 & 5

Litmus  is an exhibition and development programme offering curatorial and practical support for five early career artists based in Wales and the Welsh Borders to research, develop and present new work at Oriel Davies.

Artists are invited to submit applications for either part 4: Litmus Residency or part 5: Litmus Commission.

Litmus is based in our third exhibition space, which is a small yet adaptable space that measures 158cm (w) x 212cm (l) x 219cm (h). Whilst we’re anchoring the programme here, artists are encouraged to submit applications that consider other spaces/places in Oriel Davies (whether physical or digital), and the surrounding area.

Emotive Creators - Emotional Awareness Artists’ Residency

Goa, India, 25th Oct - 23rd Nov 2017.

 

3-6 artists (couples accepted) are invited to book India’s first emotional awareness residency to experience a one-month long unique program of creative arts process, personalised mentoring, one-to-one and group support; facilitated by three international highly qualified and experienced professionals specialising in the arts, plus personal and professional self development and empowerment.

 

Artist Call – Workshops for Children and Families

Oriel Davies is seeking creative practitioners with a background in participatory practice to deliver a programme of workshops for children and families in Oriel Davies’ pop-up project and event space The Kitchen.

We are looking for up to 6 artists to run workshops and activities that take inspiration from The Kitchen, both the project space and all things relating to the domestic setting.  In addition, there are four Big Draw workshops, which should be based on the 2017 festival theme – Living Lines.

 

Artistic Directors Series #008: ESKA

Brighter Sound is delighted to announce an artistic residency with Mercury Prize-nominated singer and multi-instrumentalist ESKA.

Brighter Sound is looking for 15 talented emerging musicians, dancers, filmmakers, photographers, actors, performers and visual artists who embrace creativity and invention to take part in a four-day residency with ESKA from Thursday 25 May to Sunday 28 May inclusive.

The residency will be entitled, “Are You Here?”, and participants will collaborate with ESKA to create and record new music, performance and visuals that will be showcased at Manchester’s iconic music venue Band on the Wall on 28 May.

I-Park 2017 Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale

I-Park, East Haddam, CT (U.S.), is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its sixth international, multi-disciplinary Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale. The three-week residency begins on Monday, May 15, 2017 and will culminate in a public exhibition on June 4, 2017. The residency will be devoted exclusively to the 10 – 12 artists/designers who will be invited to create new works for the exhibition. The term ‘site-responsive’ is construed broadly to encompass the various aspects of the project site: natural, built, social – and is also sensitive to the various dimensions of time. Artists/designers working in all creative disciplines, including Landscape/Garden/Ecological Design and Architecture, are encouraged to apply.
