Don't Put Me In A Box

"Don't Put Me In A Box", curated by Executive Director Johannah Hutchison of International Sculpture Center, presents work by New Jersey artists responding to the assignment to create work outside of the box. This group show of shoebox-scale sculpture, constructions, pastiche/collections, and multi-media arrangements, reflects on themes of structure/limitation, and identity/self-definition. The exhibition is to be presented at the Firmament Gallery of the Nimbus Arts Center, a site of the International Sculpture Center's Annual Conference.

This call is open to all New Jersey artists, no membership required.

Artwork may not exceed 24" (60.96 cm) in any one direction.

Submissions close September 8th, 2023. Participants will be notified by September 12th, 2023.

Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center Public Art

The City of Lewisville, Texas, is currently constructing the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center (description below). Completion is expected to be during the first quarter of 2025. The City Council, city management, and the appointed Arts Advisory Board have a strong desire to accent the new facility with a visually striking exterior public art installation outside the building’s entrance. The placement and vision of the project lends itself to sculpture or similarly durable artwork in a range of materials proven able to withstand the extremes of Texas weather, with sufficient visual appeal to be seen from nearby streets and to complement the scale and architecture of the building.

The Summer Academy is dedicated to artists, sculptors and art students.  A selected group of 20 international participants will be led by a team of three artists.

The participants are familiarised with different aspects of drawing, in order to train their eye, develop their individual design language and deepen their drawing skills.
