Lab.20 art contest, is a call for submissions open to all kind of artists. Works allowed in the art competition are: drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, graphics, mix media and video. A great opportunity for the artists, which can win a cash prize, have the opportunity to exhibit the artworks in January 2022 in Milan and much more.

The contest is addressed to professional and amateur artists, graphic designers, painters, photographers, etc. from all over the world.

ARTWORK ACQUISITION AWARD

Malamegi Lab will acquire one among 12 final artworks. This artwork will become part of the Malamegi Lab’s private collection. The award has a maximum purchase value of € 2000,00. Artworks not for sale or with a price higher than the acquisition prize will not participate in this prize. These artworks will still be able to win one of the other prizes.

COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

Malamegi is raffling the creation of a new collection of works by the selection of one artist among the 12 finalists of the contest. The collaboration will enable the artist to develop an entire collection of his works that will be advertised and presented to all buyers of the commercial network.

CASH PRIZE

At the end of the collective exhibition, to an artist among the 12 selected will be awarded a cash prize of € 1000,00. The award will be given based on the quality and originality of the work on display. The winning work will remain property of the artist. The prize is a contribution to the development of art and artist's aesthetic research.

MONOGRAPHIC CATALOGUE

A monographic book will be dedicated to one of the finalists. The monography will be curated by Malamegi Lab with the support of final exhibition's curators. The book will be edited, developed, printed and distributed at Malamegi Lab expenses. Apart the copies in distribution, another ones will be added for the artist's personal use. The monograph will be printed in about 100 copies, of which 20 will be left to the artist. The distribution of monographs will be curated by Malamegi on behalf of its best customers and collectors.

A Closer Look and Cabinet Cards

A CLOSER LOOK
Open Call for "A Closer Look" photo exhibit

Scale is an important facet of images. Small-format photographs force observers to get close and lean into the picture. A small size image establishes intimate connections between the photo and the viewer. 
In conjunction with A Closer Look, a private collection of cabinet cards will also be on display. These wonderful small scale portraits became popular from the 1870s to 1900. In addition to having a warm sepia tone the backs were often elaborate advertisements for the photographer's studio.
ABOUT THE EXHIBIT:
The Perfect Exposure Gallery is accepting submissions for a Group Show on small-scale photographs. The exhibition will feature both emerging and established photographers.

DEADLINE:MAy 30, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. PST. There’s No Fee for submission. Entry fees are established for work accepted in the show. 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 
All participants agree to allow The Perfect Exposure Gallery to exhibit and offer for sale original photographs produced by the artist. The artworks will be made available for sale at the retail price assigned by the artist. The Perfect Exposure Gallery and the Artist agree to split the sales percentage equally (50/50).
For a unified exhibit, The Perfect Exposure Gallery will produce the print(s) selected for admittance. The prints will be Archival Inkjet Prints made on Canson Platine Fibre Rag with a maximum width/height of 6 inches. The works will be matted in White 8-ply museum board and finished in 11x14 black wooden frames. The artist will incur the cost of printing and framing through the Perfect Exposure. If the work is not sold, the photos will be returned to the Artist at the end of the exhibition.
Printing, matting, framing and hanging hardware fee is: $85.
Mat, frame and hardware only: $70

12th Annual Spring Art Show

CALL TO ARTISTS: 12th Annual Spring Art Show 2020

The Visual Arts Guild of Mountain Home will be hosting their annual Spring Art Sale May 8 - 9, 2020 at the Mountain Home Public Library. This two-day show will be held Friday, May 8 from 9am -7pm and Saturday, May 9 from 9am - 4pm.

This is a call to all artists who are interested in selling their work to join in the fun. Sign-ups can be done through Charlotte Moody-Emerson at cemeartisticcreations@yahoo.com or by text at 208-724-8304. This years’ deadline for sign-ups for the Spring Art Sale is April 4th.

Rules for participating artists:

  • Visual Arts Guild members will pay a $10 Show Fee, non members will pay $22
  • All artists must pay a commission of 10% of your total sales, up to $1000.00 in total sales. There will be no percentage taken after that amount.
  • All artists agree to volunteer at least 2 hours of your time during the hours of the show.
  • All artwork must be priced $100 or less.
  • All work must be show ready. Framed Prints and Paintings must be wired.
  • 3-dimensional art will be displayed on tables/displays provided. If special accommodations are needed please contact Charlotte Moody-Emerson (see above), Cynthia Henstock at cedarhousestudio@centurylink.net, or Patti Hamaishi at pattihamaishi@gmail.com.
  • All unframed flat art, i.e. prints, cards, etc. should be packaged in clear plastic sleeves to be placed in shared displays, i.e. display racks or card racks so that patrons will be able to safely look through them.
  • All work must be properly labeled with name of each piece, artists initials, and price. This information must match your artist inventory sheet which will be provided by the guild.
  • All available space will be shared by all artists as equally as possible.
  • We can add additional art, as space allows, from any and all artists who are participating. This means that as the artwork begins to sell we will be rearranging the remaining pieces for a more visually appealing display and if an artists has additional pieces that they’d like to sell those can be added during that time.
  • Each participating artist is responsible for delivery and pick up of their own work. All artists are required to work as a team to ensure fair representation for EVERYONE’s artwork. 
  • This is a family show. Artwork should reflect that and be suitable for all ages. The Guild maintains the right to refuse work that doesn’t reflect these values.
  • Set up will start at 4pm and will be completed by 7pm, when the library closes Thursday May 7th. Tear down will be at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon and must be completed by 5pm as that is when the library closes. For both set up and tear down things go more smoothly, and can be a lot more fun, if all participating artists can be there on time and work together.

This is a fun show that gives emerging artists a chance to try their hand at selling their art while receiving the assistance of some of the participating experienced artists. It’s also a great opportunity to get out to meet the people in town and learn what they are interested in seeing, all while introducing yourself and showing your art to the community.

90th Annual Juried Open Exhibition

This call for submission is open to all artists 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2D and 3D media, including sculpture. All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution. Photography, film, video, computer art, reproductions (such as giclee, prints) are not acceptable unless used as part of a mixed media artwork or collage. Installation art or performance art are not accepted. No crafts (such as jewelry) or kit work. Artwork must not exceed 48 inches in any dimension including frame. Sculpture must not exceed 30 inches in any dimension.  Deadline for entries April 7, 2020.

Exhibition will be on display from May 10 – June 6, 2020.
