Antenna is now accepting submissions for our National Solo Exhibition Open Call for 2023 AND 2024. Individual visual artists or collaborators working in any visual art mediums are eligible to apply. This opportunity is for individual artists, collaboratives, and collectives  living and working outside the state of Louisiana. The Antenna Collective  is  supports exhibitions that align with Antenna’s mission to provide opportunities for  BIPOC,  LGBTQ-GNC+, women, immigrant, and other abled cultural contributors and cultural bearers who produce artistic works  at the intersection of Gender and Identity, the Environment, Equity, Renewable Resources, Abolition, Restorative Justice, and the histories of the Gulf South, and artists that take an expansive, decolonial, and experimental approach to exhibit-making.   

 

The National Open Call is selected by the Antenna Collective. The Antenna Collective is an interdisciplinary group of artists, writers, makers, and innovators that collaboratively curate, exhibit, and maintain Antenna’s Gallery Spaces located at 3718 St. Claude Ave. The Antenna Collective consists of a culturally and socially engaged group of New Orleans based artists who combine their energies and experiences for the cultivation of the New Orleans art community.  PUBLIC PROGRAMMING

The selected artist or collaborators will also have an opportunity to participate in some form of programming related to their show or practice, which may include an artist talk, workshop, or other forms of social engagement and conversations between the artist(s) and the broader community.

AWARD

Two applicants will be selected and awarded a solo show. One artist will exhibit for the months of June - July in 2023, and one artist will exhibit May - June of 2024 at Antenna Gallery (see important dates below for more information), an honorarium of $1,000 (split amongst the group, if collaborative), paid shipping of artwork, paid travel to and from New Orleans for the install and opening of the exhibition, and accommodations in Antenna Gallery's residency space. Antenna will provide installation and curatorial support along with an opportunity to publish an exhibition catalog, artist book, or similar ephemeral to be determined in collaboration with Antenna's publishing center,  Paper Machine.

Art Show International, a leading voice in the art community and one of the world's fastest growing art galleries invites all visual artists to Art Competitions & Solo Exhibitions to get global recognition and win cash prizes. Every one of our 2020 and 2021 art competitions has been a resounding success. In the last month alone, $1,700 in cash prizes were given out to 28 talented artists. There were several other gifted artists who were also quite deserving of the prize money and could have as easily won the competition.

Art Show International is aware of artists' needs and preferences during these unprecedented times. We strive to distribute prize money equitably to help out a maximum number of artists in our community. Winners receive exceptional recognition in their fields. All cash prize awards are unrestricted and given with no strings attached. Two art competitions are held each month. Long term and permanent residency with our gallery is available where we represent you and your art and promote you in our newsletters and social media. We pride ourselves as having the best services for all visual artists. We will help you out in any way we can. Each month, 16 artists are awarded cash prizes in multiple categories.

Copyright Policy: Artists always retain all rights to their artworks.

Artists may submit all types of art media, including both 2D and 3D works, digital, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, fiber, graphic, mixed media, as well as experimental and installation works. All our competitions and exhibitions are juried and open to artists internationally. Winners will get widespread worldwide recognition.

Prizes Details: 

Cash prizes over $22,500 annually will be given out to winners. The grant money will be unrestricted and may be used in any manner by the recipient artist. Depending on the number and quality of artworks applicable to each theme, the following prizes maybe considered for each competition:

OPEN CALL at OyG Projects: Two Solo Exhibitions

Ortega y Gasset Projects is pleased to announce an Open Call for TWO Solo Exhibitions to open in September of 2020: one in the main gallery space at OyG and one in The Skirt, OyG's dedicated space for site-specific installation.

Both opportunities will include an opening reception on Saturday, September 12, 2020, $400 honorarium for each artist/proposal, and one programmed event (an artist talk or a closing event), and will be promoted on OyG social media outlets. OyG Co-Directors will work with the artists and make studio visits leading up to the opening of the exhibitions, if possible. The artists are required to fully participate in the exhibitions' installation and deinstallation.

Visual artists of all disciplines (and geographical locations) are encouraged to apply. The artists will be selected by the OyG Co-Directors based on the quality of their work and commitment to their practice. Artists are highly encouraged to specify which space they'd like to exhibit in, the main gallery space or The Skirt. The OyG Co-Directors will make the final decision.

An alternate list of candidates/runners-up will be posted on our website and considered for future programing at the gallery. Past/future exhibition artists that we discovered from our past Open Calls include: Cameron Granger, KT Duffy, Patrice Helmar, Jihyun Hong, Familien Iglesias,  Carl E. Hazlewood, Rose Nestler, Norm Paris, Ben Pederson, Padma Rajendran, Adam Liam Rose, Winnie Sidharta and Kuldeep Singh.

K. Carrington is Fusion Art’s 3-Dimensional Artist Spotlight Winner for February 2020

The gallery will promote K and her work on the Fusion Art website, through individual online press releases to hundreds of outlets, email blasts, in online event calendars, art news websites and through the gallery’s extensive social media outlets.  The gallery’s objective is to promote the Artist Spotlight winning artists, worldwide, to art professionals, gallerists, collectors and buyers.

In addition to the extensive online marketing and promotion, all Artist Spotlight winners receive an invitation to participate in Fusion Art’s Annual Group Show that is held Palm Springs, California.
