The DYSTOPIA Biennial is calling for proposals for its upcoming edition in 2024, with a focus on India. Broadly organised around the theme of “dys/utopia”, the sound art exhibition brings together a diverse range of sound art related artistic practices, including installations, performances, experimental music, listening sessions, as well as projects in public space.

Modern Composition with Gavin Bryars

CAMP is a residential arts facility in the French Pyrenees. It's a place where great art is made, new movements are formed, new ideas are explored and groundbreaking people are nurtured. CAMP is located in Aulus les Bains, the last village before the France/Spain Pyrenean frontier chain. The location is spectacular - we are nestled at 750m above sea level, surrounded by snowcapped peaks over 3000m high, ancient forests and cascading waterfalls. There are eagles, lammergeiers, vultures, ibex and bears. Walk out of the residency, and within ten minutes you are completely alone in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe.

CONCEPT

Campbient (ambient camping) is an annual weekend-long sound art residency that brings together 22 participants for 44 hours to conceptualize, produce, and record two sound art compositions on-site at a state park in Washington State. The residency includes sound-related workshops and creative activities and a start-to-finish audio production process with the results pressed in a limited run of vinyl LPs and distributed digitally. The residency is completely off the electrical grid, and all audio production and other activities are battery-powered.
