Drama Games Masterclass

Bigfoot Arts Education, the UKs largest provider of creative and educational workshops, is now taking bookings for its Drama Games and Exercise Masterclass.

This course is a chance for drama workshop leaders and class teachers to get together in a safe environment and try out new games and exercises and explore different ways to facilitate those classics that we all know and love!

We will look at traditional, stock games and how best to facilitate them or give them a new spin, create brand new games from scratch, explore the different ways that existing games can be used to enhance different areas of the curriculum and also explore advanced facilitation techniques to ensure that you get the most out of each and every game!

All participants will receive a typed up hand-out of all of the games played on the day our record is 50 games in a day!

This day is perfect for any facilitator looking for new game and exercise inspiration or

for anyone wishing to increase their repertoire of games.

Xmas Relaxed Singalong - Sat 3rd Dec - 10:30am



Getready forthe Xmas Relaxed Singalong coming up on the morning of Saturday 3rd Decemberat Kettering Music and Performing Arts Centre.

These FREE sessions are specifically tailored towards the needs and abilities of children with special educational needs, communication disorders and other disabilities. But, as importantly, the sessions are also very much open to all the family... both young and old.

Our team of specialist artists lead participants through a wide range of different songs to suit all ages, abilities and interests.

We uselots of different props to make the songs interesting and exciting (e.g. real bubbles with "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles") as we as some assistive music technology (e.g. digital switches) so everyone can join in.

A signer is also present at the session and Makaton symbols are used to help some of the children understand the meaning of the song and follow the lyrics.

The Company is seeking to appoint a Digital Marketing Officer to work closely with both the Production Department and Education Company to manage and deliver the internal and external digital marketing and communications strategy as the Company expands its national and international profile, alongside assisting in the further development of its surroundings.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent grasp of social media and new technology
  • A good understanding of the performing arts world and in particular contemporary dance
  • Good team working and people skills
  • Copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable examples of social media engagement and the creation of online content
  • A flexible do what it takes approach to work

Told by an Idiots popular intensive Directors workshop is back for the seventh year running!

The role of the Director in the devising process isnt always straightforward but can be the most rewarding experience a Director can have. This fascinating and intensive workshop led by Told by an Idiot co-founder and Artistic Director Paul Hunter will examine in depth the role of the Director during a collaborative writing project.

By exploring some of the crucial aspects of devising, including establishing trust, creating a playful atmosphere, liberating the performer, generating materials (verbal and physical), editing and the relationship with the creative team, the participants will gain a unique insight into Told by an Idiots devising process from a Directors perspective.

Grotowski Short Course




Six week Short Course running on Thursday evenings

12th January-16th February 2017


This intensive and highly physical short course inspired by the teachings of legendary theatre practitioner, Jerzy Grotowski aims to promote the relationship between actor, space and spectator.

Lead by Magda Stawman-Tuka, the 6 week short course will focus on spacial awareness and how the actor and the space work together. Via Negativa will dictate the approaches throughout the course to enable the actor to eradicate obstacles and lead to a state of impulse and essence.

The course aims to help the actor discover a deeper physical understanding of mind, body and space in performance contexts, stripping back to achieve a greater performance experience which they will be able to take directly into any performance setting.

An insight into creating your own projects and self-producing as well as starting and running creative enterprises, run by Tessa Hart (Co-Founder & Artistic Director of The Bread & Roses Theatre and Goblin Baby Theatre Co.).

The event will feature a talk as well as practical workshop elements on developing and planning projects, getting things off the ground and eventually growing and sustaining them in the long-term.
