Print Studio Traineeship Opportunities

londonprintstudio is a not-for-profit organisation that provides educational resources in the graphic arts for artists, community organisations, educational institutions and the public.

We are making a traineeship available, suitable for a recent art graduate or a current student interested in gaining experience in our printstudio. The trainee will develop their technical, training and teaching skills by working alongside our professional team who coordinate the running of our open access studio.
Our printstudio offers open access sessions in our fully-equipped, purpose built facilities.We also offer a wider range of print making courses.
The person we are looking for : an enthusiastic, hard working and motivated art or design graduate (or with equivalent experience) with a particular interest in printmaking and teaching assistance. Candidate must be fluent in English with good communication skills.
The opportunity: a six month traineeship providing invaluable experience in supporting the day to day running of a print studio and teaching assistance. This position provides practical training experience and skills appropriate to the coordination and running of an open access artist’s resource and to the teaching of printmaking courses. The trainee will assist with the day-to-day running of londonprintstudio open access facilities with some opportunities to assist tutors on courses. This traineeship is for two days per week, or every Saturday. There are 3 positions available.
Aims of the traineeship
The aim of our programme is to provide trainee volunteers with experience of working in a professional arts organisation,developing their training and other transferable skills.
The training programme will include:
Developing an understanding of course teaching and one to one training
Developing customer care skills in assisting visitors and resource users
Learning about stock control and distributing materials
Learning about equipment and resource maintenance in a professional studio
Learning to work in a team
Learning basic admin skills
The trainee will receive a travel and food expenses budget for two days per week (or one day for Saturday applicants). In addition you will receive a voucher permitting use of londonprintstudio’s open access facilities (in line with studio rules). The trainee will not be able to use the facilities on their scheduled training days. The cost of materials is not included.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a CRB check
