Margate Film Festival artist commission

Margate Film Festival is a project born out of the turbulence of changing cultural landscapes and a love for the chaos of creativity – a journey through the wilderness of the cinema.

The festival connects local communities and artists with national and international initiatives to create a DIY, collaborative film & visual arts celebration. This year it will expand to include artists moving image, audio-visual installations and a programme of talks, overlapping with the Turner Prize.

The 2019 festival explores the theme of ‘Against The Tide’, collating stories of political and personal change; exploring migration, transformation and evolution of landscapes, and that of both individual and communal heritage and identities.

Open Call: BF Artist Film Festival

We are now accepting submissions for the ninth BF Artist Film Festival!

The festival is open to national and international artists at any stage of their career. We welcome single channel film and video works from within the field of artists’ moving image; short narrative films, documentaries, experimental and essay films, animation and video collage. There are no restrictions on date or theme. Videos under 6 minutes are preferred but videos of up to 10 minutes will be considered.

Magmart | video under volcano

Magmart | video under volcano is an international videoart festival, which over the years has seen the participation of more than 1400 artists from +80 different countries, with thousand submitted videos.
The Festival is open to all international videoartists. Partecipation is free.
Between all submitted video, will be done a final selection based on vote of a Jury composed by experts.
Any author can participate with max 5 video.

The 3rd Ramsgate International Film Festival returns in June 2019.

The festival will present new works by local and International independent filmmakers, championing diversity on-screen and off. Complemented by a programme of unique live events, workshops and seminars from high profile industry professionals, RIFF 2019 is set to be the most exciting year yet.

Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival is seeking to expand beyond the screen in 2019 and curate a fringe of visual arts, projection, moving/interactive pieces, AV installation, workshops and more to bring the town's landscapes and locations to life.
