This book fair that is held every September is one of the more important events for us. Because of health and safety regulations due to COVID-19 the New York Art Book Fair is not being held at its usual location at MoMA PS1, but will instead be held online. This new format may present some new challenges, but we are hoping to take advantage of this unique opportunity by inviting more artists from overseas. 

○ Application Guideline:

- The work or the artist must be related to Japan, but you can be creative.

- The work should be printed matter.

            Examples: books, photography books, prints, tote bags, sculptural books, pop-up

            books, etc., as long as it involves some kind of printing process.

- The work should be available for sale.

- The price range can be varied. Average price range is 15-100 USD. 

- The image and video of the work should be ready by the end of December 31, 2020 (Five to 20 physical copies of work should be available at time of sale)

○ If accepted, we will send you an invitation by December 10, 2020.

○ Selected artist’s responsibilities
Selected artists need to provide the following documents by December 31, 2020 (EST):

1. Your bio (in English, max 200 words)
2. Your CV (in English, max 400 words)
3. Your artist statement (in English, max 400 words)
4. Your statement about your work (in English, max 400 words)

5. Images of final work (about 2MB each selected work)

6. Video of your final work (about 2 min each selected work)

7. Pricelist

8. Participation fee: 75USD

Artists are responsible to ship sold artworks to buyers.

10% for tax, 5% for Printed Matter and 25% for simple project will be taken from all sales.

Edit, organize, and put together selected works for the website.
Negotiate with clients and providers during the book fair.

Organize book signings, talks, etc,.

○ Other

Once you are selected for this book fair, you may also be eligible to participate in additional shows and events throughout the coming year if they become available. Last year after the art book fair, we exhibited several artworks and books at a gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for two months.

Participating artists may be selected by invitation as well as by this open call for participants.

Embrace Creatives teamed up with the American Society of Interior Designers, Michigan Chapter to get you in front of their members!

This casual event is a unique opportunity to meet with and show your physical work to commercial buyers who are searching for professional talent and new products. Due to COVID-19, we're postponing the in-person showcase to Summer but are creating a video, per-event introduction to share your artwork with ASID Members.

Selected artists and makers will be added into a special introduction video AND be on site with a selection of their physical work, talking to the ASID MI members, sharing materials information, creation insights, production times, retail prices and other business information that the designers need to know to work with you.

Our Mix With a Maker: Interior Design is open to all Artists, Makers and Designers. You do not have to be in our Embrace Creatives network to apply or show.

Wells Art Contemporary 2020 Call for Entries



The Wells Art Contemporary (WAC) Awards are an open competition for contemporary art rapidly gaining praise in Britain and abroad. It was established in 2012 by a group of artists and their friends in Wells, the beautiful cathedral city in the South-West of England. This idea that came to life around a kitchen dining table has already established a strong presence in the London art world and is drawing artists from places as diverse as Australia, Azerbaijan, India, Italy, Korea, Japan and the United States, as well as all over Britain.

Artists over the age of 18, based in the UK or internationally, are invited to enter up to 4 works in any medium – painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, installation or video. They can enter by online submission before Thursday 16 April 2020. The entry fee is £15 per work or £12 per work for students.

The Exhibition of shortlisted artworks will be held at the historic Wells Cathedral, Somerset, and be open to the public from 11 July – 9 August 2020, 9am – 4.30pm daily. All exhibitors will be invited to the Private View on Friday 10 July 2020.

Prizes Details: 

The following prizes will be awarded:

RK Harrison Award: £2,000 awarded to one artist.

JGM Gallery Exhibition Prize: Up to 4 artists, including international artists, will be selected to take part in an exhibition in 2020 at the JGM Gallery in the heart of London’s new cultural quarter next to the Royal College of Art in London.

Parker Harris Mentoring Prize: Parker Harris will give a one-to-one mentoring session covering all aspects of professional development to a selected artist.

ChubbBulleid People’s Prize: Selected by visitors of the exhibition.

Next Generation Art Prize: A two-week solo exhibition at the Andelli Art Gallery, including a private view and social media support, will be awarded to an artist up to 30 years of age. Mentoring and advice on working with galleries, curation and artistic development will also be offered.

Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts (KIRA) was established in February 2016 in an effort to support the creativity of artists. It hopes to promote excellence in the arts both here in Canada as well as in the International scene, all the while benefitting the local community of St Andrews by becoming a cultural destination. A residency at KIRA creates a rewarding and stimulating experience for any participant seeking to advance their artistic journey.

Located in beautiful St Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. Artists live on a historic property in a beautiful seaside town and work in studios located just steps away from the residence. It is within walking distance of the down town area.

 Program details and support
- One month of free studio space in a freestanding 300-square foot studio equipped with Wi-Fi.
- Awarded stipend of $1,500 (CAD) per month.
- Private bedroom/bathroom in a well-maintained historic property located steps away from the studio.
- Up to 5-artists living on-site.
- Two meals a day  (breakfast and lunch)
- Audience engagement opportunities.
- Access to Kingsbrae Garden and KIRA's amphitheatre public events.
- Scheduled access to: nontoxic printmaking equipment (portable proofing press suitable for linoblock, woodcut, and letter set printing, range of typeset), ceramics equipment (pottery kick-wheels, medium sized kiln, outdoor gas fired kiln), woodshop (chop saws, table saws, planer, clamps, etc.), mechanical shop with a range of basic hand tools and resources.
- Artists will be responsible for covering costs associated with the purchase of materials, shipment of artwork/supplies, travel costs and other living expenses including supplemental food.
- Artists will participate in Open Studios for the public each Saturday from 10am-1pm.
- An end of residency Art Exhibit of the body of work completed during the residency month will take place in the final week of each residence.

Vancouver Visual Art Foundation is announcing an open call for the 6th edition of Art Vancouver, an international art fair held annually at The Vancouver Convention Centre, a stunning waterfront venue. Art Vancouver draws over 10,000 well-educated buyers & art lovers from all around the world. DECENTRALIZE! - exhibition series and residency




We would like to invite artists from all over the world to share their unique viewpoints, and add more diverse voices to the local art scenes of smaller towns in Hungary.

The program starts with a series of residencies and exhibitions in Zalaegerszeg, and continues next year when a selection of artworks from this period will be included in a print publication and a travelling exhibition at independent smaller galleries in a number of Hungarian cities. A closing exhibition is planned to take place in Budapest.

All disciplines are welcome, however the end result of your project should be something that can be presented at an exhibition event. During the residency we will help you gathering materials, setting up the installation and organizing the public events. (open studio, meet the artists and of course an exhibition opening). We will also provide opportunities to meet other resident and local artists during your stay.

Duration of residency: The standard residency period is two weeks, but longer periods can be negotiated.

Accommodation: In a two bedroom flat near the city centre and the studio.

Studio/ workspace: A shared studio/exhibition space for two artists per residency period.

Residency fee: The residency fee is 320 Euros per person for the residency period of two weeks.
