Summer Writers Retreat 2019 Literary Arts

Overview

The Summer Writers Retreat is a self-directed program that offers time and space for writers to retreat, reconnect, and re-energize their writing practice. In addition to a single room, which doubles as your private studio, you will be surrounded by a community of artistic peers. You will have the opportunity to attend inspiring talks and performances and meet with guest faculty to consult on your work.

CURRENT + UPCOMING AVAILABILITY:

New international bursaries for UK bloggers

The British Council is thrilled to offer a new opportunity for talented UK arts bloggers and writers to travel internationally.

Bloggers have had a huge influence on UK performance, but opportunities for paid work or career development are few and far between. To address this, we’re piloting a programme awarding bursaries to three UK bloggers – enabling them to have an international experience, develop their skills and build connections outside the UK.

Byrdcliffe Artist residencies offer uninterrupted time and space for artists or all disciplines to work in a creative community on our 250-acre Catskill mountain historic campus just two hours north of NYC. Writers, musicians, and visual artists are all encouraged to apply -  supported disciplines include ceramics, weaving, darkroom/digital photography, video, painting, sculpture, musical performance and composition, fiction, nonfiction, and poetry among others.
