As an art and design foundation student at Manchester School of Art (MMU), I was challenged to be part of a long-term project during which the students were invited to weekly respond to a news article. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus has been dominating all news outlets; this satirical digital collage doesn't necessarily aim to criticize the government in particular, but it does intend to make us reflect on what really matters. When such an event affects so many people around the world, calls for solidarity multiply in a world dominated by capitalism. How can we feed the machine if we are dead? The image is a response to an opinion news article which invites us to understand how political views can soon be affected in the middle of a pandemic.
