Founded in Rochester, NY in 2012, ROCmusic is a tuition-free, three-day per week, out-of-school-time music education program inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema.  ROCmusic provides string-based instrument instruction to approximately 100 students in grades 1 through 12 in two recreation centers operated by the City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Youth Services.  Two additional sites are scheduled to open in the 2018-19 school year and the program is anticipated to grow to 130 students.
