- About -

I worked for 20yrs as a TV & Film Director (freelancing for various companies including BBC, Sky, HTV) before switching to concentrate on the singular frame in photography, and exploring composition in Music and Sound Art. My photography career grew as I became in demand as a Portrait Photographer. A few years ago I went back to the darkroom and revisited historic printing techniques. I use medium format and Holga film cameras and have produced series such as "Disappearing Deptford" documenting the changes in the area via portraits and interviews with the stall-holders. When the darkroom closed down I got hooked on the Cyanotype process, using sunlight to expose my images. I sell creative works in this medium at exhibitions, most recently "Film-Flam" for Deptford X. I've run several workshops on cyanotype technique to pass the skill onto others , from teenagers to pensioners. Another recent workshop I provided was "painting to music" which allowed people to express themselves on canvas while responding to live music. Mixed media explorations include "Murmollos" a vast collage made in collaboration with a painter friend that included my sound recordings and photography. I'm concerned with the environment, and recent works show mermaids trapped in plastic in the Thames.
