Xueqing Yin is a highly sought-after Director and Editor who has produced award winning films and photography featured in galleries around the world. A multitalented filmmaker who has mastered many aspects of production, Yin was the Director, Cinematographer, Editor of the documentary film, “Fiction About Country C” about a woman who wants to conceive a second child after more than a decade’s gap. The film received critical acclaim at a number of international festivals: Best Film on Women at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, Official Featured Review at the Rome Independent Film Awards and Outstanding Achievement Award, Best Woman’s Film, Best Film on Woman Special Jury Award at the Golden Valley Global Cinefest, and Best Editing Award at the Druk International Film Festival. Her previous independent documentary, “In the Garden” which she also directed, shot, and edited was named a Finalist at the Independent Shorts Award. Known for her skills in multiple visual mediums, Yin’s photography has been featured in leading galleries and exhibitions. Her piece “untitled” from her ongoing 35mm film photography series “Negative Daydream” was featured at the “ Art and Revelry” exhibition at Saint-Paul de Mausole, Saint-Rémy de Provence, France in October 2019. The exhibition was curated by artist, designer and director of SVA Galleries Francis Di Tommaso. Four images from her “Negative Daydream” series were also selected by curator Marysia Komer to exhibit along with emerging visual artists at the “Light” exhibition at Chelsea Gallery (New York City) in 2019. Yin’s photography was exhibited along with artists like Wen-Han Chang, who won the International Photography Awards for three years as well as arts professionals Brett Henrikson, award winning visual artist Wanki Min, and Fashion Photographer Yangzi Huang. Other gallery appearances include her work “Pantheon” featured at the ANTITHESIS opening exhibition for the creative artist space SoMad Studio (New York City, 2019). This expertise has led to her collaborating with numerous leaders in her field, including Sabine Krayenbühl, an award winning editor with over 20 theatrical documentaries and narrative features to her credit, many of which have premiered at prestigious festivals around the world. Krayenbühl’s work includes Oscar and Independent Spirit Award nominated My Architect for which she received an American Cinema Editors (ACE) Eddie Award nomination. Yin has also worked with Max Rothman, an independent filmmaker and professional editor & producer with years working experience in NBC News, Sundance Institute, Brick City TV, TriBro Films and now in Monticello Park Productions; and Steel Stillman an artist and writer and contributing editor at Art in America who teaches in the MFA Photography, Video and Related Media department at the School of Visual Arts. For the last two years, Ms. Yin has written and contributed on designing the structure of art sharing at Beijing-based Art Media Lab, an online platform that aims to share professional international art resources, inspirations and all useful techniques and experience for art lovers in mainland China. Frequently recognized for her outstanding achievements in the industry, Yin’s work has been featured in art publications Cult Critic, Zing Magazine, and PULSD.
