A60 Contemporary Art Space Florence presents the solo exhibition of young artist Wu Yueping titled "La Scala del Cielo": a series of light installations created by the artist while studying and living in Italy. Wu Yueping's themes often focus on problems encountered and experienced in areas of immigration: the artist observes the Asian communities around her, from her creative perspective.

It is everyone's right to choose how they live their lives. "I had heard this phrase as a child but could not fully understand it because it was not the reality I saw and experienced. I saw many people "suffocated" by pressures of all kinds but with so many desires and dreams that they will never be able to realize: the condition of travel for them will remain a dream and they will only live in their remote hometowns. I have also seen that many people who want to live peacefully in their cities, because of gossip and rumors, have to abandon their places and live in cramped rented rooms. There are many people in this world who are forced to live a life full of injustice and have lost the right to make their own choices. In the journey of learning to accept my fate, I slowly grew up: observed people, experienced more things, and discovered a different world. In the midst of so much injustice, people can still retain the desire to live-this is really bright and dazzling."

The "ladder" is not only a tool for climbing upward, but also a condition, a metaphor for the ideal life (ascent) to which many people aspire. Adriano Pedrosa, curator of the 60th Venice Biennale, titled this year's exhibition "Stranieri Ovunque, Foreigners Everywhere”. Wu Yueping's works make us rethink this question: his artwork aims to reflect on the concept of man-migrant living in a foreign country. The artist wants to create a reflection in relation to what man feels, lives and dreams.
