Colourscape Music Festival in London

Colourscape Music Festival

Colourscape is a large labyrinth of colour and light. It’s a sculpture of pure colour that the public actually go inside. Everyone puts on a coloured cape to become part of the colour experience and enters into a new world where one can freely explore the potentials of light, colour and space. There’s also music, dance and theatre taking place inside. Originally created by artist Peter Jones in the early 70s, Colourscape is a walk-in structure of nearly 100 interlinked chambers.

The Colourscape Music Festival has appeared annually on Clapham Common since 1989. It’s the only contemporary music festival to take place actually inside a sculpture. Composers Lawrence Casserley and Simon Desorgher originally founded their south London music festival in Nettlefold Hall, West Norwood. When they encountered Colourscape the made the decision to move the whole contemporary music festival into this amazing new space.

We felt we could almost breathe the colours. Colour can be seen, and it can also be felt. Colour is energy. Colourscape is about opening up your senses, stimulating creativity and extending your awareness of colour.

****************

Music documentary film MAKANNA, based on the novel of the Jewish writer Jiří Weil (1900 - 1959), from the concert performance of the ballet MAKANNA, composed by composer Irena Kosíková for voice (Jan Židlický), solo cello (František Brikcius) and orchestra (Jan Talich - conductor, Talich Chamber Orchestra), was held at the Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia under the auspices of Sir Tom Stoppard and Václav Havel.

The film premier took place at the Vaclav Havel Library in Prague to commemorate the 115th anniversary of birth of the Jewish writer Jiří Weil. Under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague 1, the premiere was part of the Daniel Pearl World Music Days, the 17th Poetry Day Festival and the 4th Festival Brikcius. It was recently screened in Beijing (the 9the European Union Film Festival in China) and in Lisbon (MUVI - International Music Film Festival in Portugal).

The novel Makanna - The Father of Miracles describes the rise and fall of a historical person - the 7th century false prophet. ........ "Unearthed from ancient times, this unfamiliar oriental world becomes in this novel a living, colourful picture reminding us of not-so-distant historical tyranny. The novel Makanna was written in 1940 and published in 1941 under a cover name, whose owner was tortured to death in Mauthausen."

Untitled Project 9

It's a match!

This video was way to process what I was feeling when I first explored the world of online dating. The text in the video are excerpts from messages I received. I felt broken for wanting to search for companionship online.

There was some desperation on my part, but I was still shocked at the desperation that was revealed to me by those who were also seeking company.
