Woman Made Gallery CFA: Word of Mouth (Food + feminism)

Woman Made Gallery seeks submissions for our January- February 2022 group exhibition juried by Rosalyn D'Mello (international art critic, feminist writer, columnist, and recent evaluator for the Andy Warhol Foundation Art Writers Grant).

This exhibition will be held at Woman Made Gallery located at 2150 S. Canalport Ave., Chicago, IL 60608 in the Pilsen neighborhood.

EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION

For the upcoming Jan/Feb 2022 exhibition Word of Mouth, Woman Made Gallery seeks artwork exploring food through an intersectional feminist lens across mediums. It asks artists to subvert socially conditioned, gendered conceptions of a kitchen, an ingredient, a worm, or even a plate.

Agora Digital Art Residency

Open Call for self-identified Women Artists working in New Media and XR

The Residency Lab is a digital residency opened to self-identified women artists, working in New Media Art with XR (AI, AR, MR, ML, VR, etc), challenging, exploring and engaging on the dis/embodiment, transhumanism and gender fluidity.

The Residency Lab is also a springboard to create a new project and to test new practices in a VR Mozilla Hubs venue.

That venue link belongs to the artist. You can continue developing your project after the residency. It is meant to invite people in such as curators, gallerists or collectors, to view your solo show.

How does it work?

Contemporary Activist Visual Art Performance with Martha Wilson

CAMP is a residential arts facility in the French Pyrenees. It's a place where great art is made, new movements are formed, new ideas are explored and groundbreaking people are nurtured. CAMP is located in Aulus les Bains, the last village before the France/Spain Pyrenean frontier chain. The location is spectacular - we are nestled at 750m above sea level, surrounded by snowcapped peaks over 3000m high, ancient forests and cascading waterfalls. There are eagles, lammergeiers, vultures, ibex and bears. Walk out of the residency, and within ten minutes you are completely alone in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe.

Women's Work

The Indianapolis Art Center announces a Call for Entry to Women’s Work. Women’s Work is a juried exhibition centered on gender and feminist politics. Historically, women have been excluded from the art world, from being kept out of academies and apprenticeships to being woefully underrepresented in galleries and museums today. Along with this, the art skills that were deemed feminine or appropriate for women, such as sewing, embroidery, or weaving, are dismissed as “just” crafts and hobbies. This exhibition, open to women-identified and non-binary artists from the local and national community, seeks to highlight female artists and intersectionality in femininity.
