"On Process" - An Exhibition That Follows the Life Cycle of an Idea

Open Call for juried “On process” Exhibit:

DVAA is now accepting entries for our Open Call "On Process", an exhibition that follows the life cycle of an idea, juried by Joseph Girandola.

Art is in the act of making. Da Vinci Art Alliance is seeking submissions from artists around the United States visual art or visual artifacts of performances that address the idea of process. Through this exhibition, we seek to shine a spotlight on the life of an idea. Processes can be defined in many ways. Artists are welcome to apply with artifacts from their processes (sketches, color studies, etc.) along with the finished work or final iteration of a piece that highlights the process by which it was made. Artists are encouraged to submit a wide range of visual examples that highlight the artistic process in some way. We are particularly interested in artworks that place importance on the mode of making or systems of conception. Where applicable, artists should submit images that show their process.

Important Dates:

• Deadline to submit is 11:59pm on May 31st.

• Artists are notified with results by July 1st.

• Selected artists have until July 31st to drop off or mail work. Work must arrive Wednesdays - Sundays, when staff are present at the gallery.

• Exhibition runs August 1st - August 25th.

• Opening reception is August 3rd.

• Closing reception is August 25th.

Rules Of Entry:

• Artists can submit up to 4 pieces.

• You can submit work created at any time during your artistic career. All work must be able to fit through the front door and installed on site by our installation team. If your piece requires any specific hardware to be installed, it must be provided when the artwork arrives to the gallery.

• Non-DVAA Members must pay the $25 application fee in order to submit (DVAA Members can submit for free. For more information on becoming a member click here).

• Work must be submitted through the application portal (see button below) to be considered.

• Deadline to submit is May 31st, 2024.
