Call for Artists – Doddington Young Sculptor Exhibition

Doddington Hall & Gardens invites submissions from young UK-based sculptors and 3D artists for an exciting new open exhibition to be held in Doddington’s historic working Kitchen Garden, just a stone’s throw away from the Elizabethan Hall. The Kitchen Garden, with 400 years of history, produces food in a nature-friendly and sustainable way to be used in the kitchens across the estate.

Doddington is looking for submissions that will complement the Kitchen Garden and its surroundings.

Doddington Hall & Gardens has hosted numerous successful exhibitions over the past few years – most notably, the popular biennial Sculpture at Doddington exhibition, comprised of internationally and nationally acclaimed contemporary sculptors. The Doddington Young Sculptor Exhibition will run alongside the main Sculpture at Doddington exhibition and is an opportunity to exhibit alongside some of the finest contemporary sculptors selected from across the country and further afield.

Eligibility:

Submissions are free and open to any UK- based sculptors and artists working in 3D, under the age of 30.

Artists can submit up to 3 pieces to be sited in the Kitchen Garden. There are no restrictions on medium, but all works must be suitable to be displayed outdoors, in all weather conditions.

Selected exhibitors must be responsible for the delivery and install of their work themselves. (The number of pieces to be exhibited may be discussed with you upon notification of selection)

Pieces can be for sale with 30% commission taken from the price listed on all sales.

Prizes:

1st prize - £750.

2nd prize - £250.

Prizes will be selected by a panel of judges consisting of Angus Forbes, assistant hall manager at Doddington and exhibition curator; Caroline Bingham, editor of Lincolnshire Life Magazine; David Waghorne and Kate McGovern, curators of Sculpture at Doddington; and Preston Fitzgerald, art advisor and curator of contemporary glass and ceramics.

How to Submit:

To apply, please email your submission as a PDF document to angus@doddingtonhall.com
