Banff Artist in Residence Emerging - Winter 2022

Overview

Banff Artist in Residence (BAiR) Emerging is an immersive program that offers studio practice, production facilities access and mentorship for visual artists in the early stages of their careers.

BAiR Emerging combines the artistic freedom of a self-directed residency with the supportive benefits of an organized program.  As well as having the space to make, research, and experiment, participants are a part of a community of emerging artists committed to developing and expanding their practice. Artists will benefit from the insight provided by guest faculty through studio visits and lectures.

The Factory Artists-in-Residence Program

The Artist in Residence (AiR) program takes place at The Factory on Willow which is a community for creators, entrepreneurs and innovators to live, work and play. Originally a shoe factory built in the 1900’s, it has since been transformed into 61 spacious studio apartments and 16 uniquely themed Airbnb studios. They have dedicated 2 of these studio apartments to the Artist-in-Residence program which is the home of two artists that are selected for each season of the year.

AUGUST DIGITAL RESIDENCY OPEN CALL

Elephant lab digital residency runs quarterly, its a competitive selection process and each digital residency artist wins £1000 RRP Colart products delivered to their studio. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or emerging artists to familiarise themselves with our premium products and get technical online support from our in house product specialists and critical feedback from editors and creatives from Elephant Magazine.
