Marketing Manager role with a venue re-brand and relaunch scope

This is a very exciting time for Richmond Theatre as we enter our 120th year. The Marketing Manager will play a key role in a larger team as we rebrand and relauch the Theatre in time for it's 120th anniversary in September 2019. 

Richmond Theatre is one of the most beautiful of all the Frank Matcham theatres. Built in 1899 as the Theatre Royal and Opera House, and refurbished in 1991 and with a 3 year renovations plan starting in the summer of 2019, it is now operated and managed by Ambassador Theatre Group, renowned for its productions and highly successful management and ownership of theatre venues throughout the country. Established as one of the most successful theatres in the country, presenting a wide range of quality drama, record breaking musicals, opera, dance and family entertainment each year, Richmond Theatre welcomes a quarter of a million theatregoers to over 40 outstanding productions annually, performing for about 49 weeks a year.

You will plan and deliver marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales and revenue for Richmond Theatre and nurture the audience base. You will serve as the go-to person for Producers & Agency partners in the development and delivery of campaigns. You will be a Champion of the audience and be responsible for identifying sales opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue. You will coordinate and collaborate within the Venue team and with ATG Central Marketing. This is a critical role in driving the increasing effectiveness of Richmond and ATG’s Marketing and is pivotal to our long-term growth strategy.

Key skills, attributes & experience

• A team player with good interpersonal skills – the ability to manage Producers in an effective manner and in a way that fosters an ever-stronger relationship.

• Highly numerate and analytical in regard to sales, audience data and budget management.

• Considerable experience of project-managing creative campaigns: generating ideas, driving process and evaluating success.

• Ability and confidence in managing relationships with creative teams, treating differing views with discretion and diplomacy.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• Creative problem solver and confident decision maker.

• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once.

• Proactive and flexible attitude, ability to effectively prioritise.

• Experience of working other partners and suppliers to tight deadlines.

• Enthusiasm for/ interest in the work of Richmond Theatre and the work of ATG.

• Absolute attention to detail.

• Ability to Deputise in the Head of Marketing & Communications absence.
