Call for Proposals for I-Park's upcoming Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale in 2021. The three-week residency will run from August 30 to September 20, 2021 and will culminate in a public opening of the Biennale on September 18, 2021.

Selected artists will receive a $3,500 stipend, meals and lodging during the residency, economy travel reimbursement and broad access to equipment, tools and materials. I-Park views site-responsive art as a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory field – at its most impactful when the installations are developed and experienced in-situ. Artists/designers from the following creative disciplines are encouraged to apply: visual arts, music composition/sound art, language arts, architecture, new media and landscape/garden/ecological design. For 2021, all works must include a substantial physical installation that will be remain in good condition through the autumn of 2022.

I-Park, East Haddam, CT (U.S.), is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its signature Site-Responsive Art Residency & Biennale in 2021. The three-week residency will run from August 30 to September 20, 2021 and will culminate in a public opening of the Biennale on September 18, 2021. The residency will be devoted exclusively to the 6 – 7 artists/designers invited to create new works for the exhibition. I-Park views site-responsive art as a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory field – at its most impactful when the installations are developed and experienced in-situ. Artists/designers from the following creative disciplines are encouraged to apply: visual arts, music composition/sound art, language arts, architecture, new media and landscape/garden/ecological design. For 2021, all works must include a substantial physical installation that will be remain in good condition through the autumn of 2022. A stipend of $3,500 and travel reimbursement will be paid for each invited project. Food and lodging are provided. Application fee: $35 (U.S.).

I-Park is now accepting applications for its fully-funded multi-disciplinary artists’ residencies. The residencies are open to artists and designers working in the visual arts, creative writing, music composition/sound art, moving image/new media and architecture/landscape design.  Except for a 6-week residency in September/October, all sessions are 4-weeks in duration.

Located within a 450-acre nature preserve in rural East Haddam, Connecticut (U.S.), I-Park provides residents with a quiet, retreat-type setting, private living quarters in a renovated 1840s farmhouse, a private studio, meals program, fully equipped workshop and modest library – as well as creative access to its expansive grounds. Residencies are self-directed, undisturbed and non-judgmental. You decide what you’re working on and when.

I-Park 2019 Autumn Artists-in-Residence Program

I-Park, located in rural East Haddam, CT (U.S.), announces its fully-funded four-week autumn multi-disciplinary residencies. Artists/designers working in  visual arts, music composition/sound art, language arts, architecture, moving image, landscape/garden/ecological design and performance art are encouraged to apply.  International applicants are welcome.  

I-Park provides comfortable, private living quarters in an 1850’s era farmhouse, a private studio space and a food program. In addition to attentive staff support, shared workshop space and an array of tools, equipment and site materials are available on request.   

Work samples are evaluated through a competitive, juried process. A $35 application fee helps defray the cost of the independent selection panels. This year, I-Park will also be offering $500 travel grants to six international residents. Accepted artists are responsible for their own work materials as well as transportation to and from the area. The program is otherwise offered at no cost to invitees.

The three-week residency will run from September 2-23, 2019 and will culminate in a public exhibition on September 22, 2019.  The residency will be devoted exclusively to the 8-12 artists/designers invited to create new works for the exhibition. I-Park views site-responsive art as a multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory field – at its most impactful when the installations and performances are developed and experienced in-situ. The term “site-responsive” is construed broadly to encompass the various aspects of the project site: natural, built, social – and sensitive to the various dimensions of time. Artists/designers working in the following creative disciplines are encouraged to apply: visual arts, music composition/sound art, language arts, architecture, moving image, landscape/garden/ecological design and performance art. An artist’s stipend of $3,500 plus travel reimbursement will be paid to each artist or collaborating team. Application fee: $20 (U.S.).
