Exercising Modernity Academy 2021 - We were/are the Future

FOR ARTISTS AND HUMANITIES SCHOLARS IN / FROM POLAND, GERMANY OR ISRAEL

We would like to draw your attention to the upcoming third edition of the Exercising Modernity Academy, Polish-German-Israeli cooperation that aims at a critical reflection on the legacy of modernity and offers young artists and humanities scholars the opportunity to exchange views on the culture and history of the 20th century. Participants must be citizens of or reside in respective countries.

TanzLabor Ulm - ResearchLab

The TanzLabor Ulm - ResearchLab consists of up to four residencies per year. It is aimed at supporting dance by nurturing emerging choreographers to realise their ideas from concept to live performance.  The TanzLabor Ulm - ResearchLab residency facilitates choreographers to create a work by providing studio space, a stage to perform, travel costs, 3 weeks local accommodation for up to 5 artists, a living allowance and a co-production budget to create and premier a new work. Through a national/international open call the selected 'dance makers' are invited to co-produce the work created in the ResearchLab, to premier in our PerformanceLab program. The ResearchLab powers imagination through dance, it champions innovative ideas and embraces risks.

HAP - Studio Programme

The HAP Studio Programme in Frankfurt supports outstanding young artists in Hesse for a period of four years by providing a total of twelve studios free of charge at basis e.V. The grant is awarded in two years to eight or four scholarship holders. The postgraduate programme also offers professional support and networking through a specially designed mentoring programme. In addition, all facilities of basis can be used, such as the basis project room for self-organized exhibitions and events. Sponsored stays abroad, for example by AIR or IEPA, can also be taken up to a total of 12 months during the programme. At the end of each funding period, a group exhibition with accompanying publication is held. Eight spots are available for the class of 2021-2025.

Think about the alarming crises in the world. The spreading pandemic, racism and discrimination, growing far-right propaganda, international terrorism, and climate change are to name a few of the perceived threats to our existence. Some people are paralyzed by uncertainty in this unpredictable time, and yes, we are also confronted with severe socio-economic problems. In addition, this unexpected crisis has unfortunately accelerated the rate of restrictions on civil liberties and mass surveillance methods have uninterruptedly risen.

OPEN CALL: Workplace scholarship for designers

feldfünf promotes the dialogue between art, design and everyday life. In cooperation with neighborhoods in the southern part of Friedrichstadt and international cultural practitioners, feldfünf is a platform for process-based, intercultural projects and long-term, collaborative ideas. In our project rooms, we offer a workplace for 3 months to a designer to realize a project, that has already begun or to develop a new creative approach. In addition to the workplace, our spacious project rooms are also available for experiments and presentations. The scholarship is aimed at all those who are active as designers, architects or artists, and whose work process is enriched by the exchange with other people.
