2024 Virginia Artist Juried Exhibition

Virginia artists (ages 18 and over) are invited to submit up to three original artworks for consideration. Original artworks created by the artist within the past two years and not previously shown at the Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center are eligible. All media, styles, techniques, and subject matter are eligible. Artwork should not exceed 60” in any direction (including framing) or weigh more than 150 pounds. Artwork must be properly labeled on the back (Name, Title, Media, etc.) Accepted artworks must be delivered dry and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers) and remain on view for the duration of the exhibition. (CHTVAC reserves the right to refuse artworks that do not meet installation requirements or are otherwise judged unsuitable).

Small Works 2020

 Call for Entries: 2020 Small Works Exhibition

 Exhibition Dates: December 12, 2020 - January 2, 2021

 Submission deadline: November 16 at 12am

The 2020 Small Works exhibition at the Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center is a juried exhibition open to all Hampton regional and Virginia artists. Awards are given for First ($200), Second ($150) and Third ($100) Places along with five Awards of Merit in two categories, Small Works and Miniatures.

Artists Who Teach 2020

Exhibition Description:  Artists Who Teach is an annual juried exhibition presenting the artwork of Hampton’s regional art educators.Artist and educator Clay McGlamory will be this year’s juror. McGlamory taught at Old Dominion University for 19 years and has been teaching at the Governor’s School for the Arts for 28 years. He runs his own press, Half Ass Press, based in Norfolk, and is current President of the Virginia Glass Guild.
