The 4th Gagarin.doc festival is dedicated to digital reality  and is held in Saratov in April 6th-12th.
The "digital format" today is becoming the new universal code of humanity, replacing the text. In a way, "digital"
is a new space, infinitely alluring and charmingly dangerous. An important part of the festival program is the competition
of the student short films “First!” which is held since 2016. Its mission is to initiate a conversation on science and space
topics by means of cinema and contemporary art, discussion of problems of popularization of scientific knowledge,
building a dialogue between science and art for a more complete picture of the structure of the world.

The competition is organized on the basis of of Saratov State University.

Submissions are open for short documentaries, non-fiction, feature films, animation, television programs and video art
(under 20 minutes), any year of production. High school students, students of Russian and Foreign universities, as well as creative youth (students of additional professional education: schools of film and video, and schools of contemporary art) can take part in the
competition.

Competition nominations
"EVENT" — unusual, bright moments, episodes, facts of life related to space;
"MAN" — a film-portrait, life stories related to space, science and art;
"INNOVATION" — inventions, changes in standards, modernization in all spheres of science and culture;
"SPACE" — space exploration, cosmonauts, space technology;
“EUPHORIA OR IMAGINARY SPACE” — cinema fantasies, flight of imaginations, experiments in the cinema language;
modernization in all spheres of science and culture;
"DIGITAL" — as a new space.
 

Prizes Details: 

According to the results of the competition the Grand Prix is awarded, prizes for the best works in each category, prize
of the festival Organizing Committee and special prizes of the festival’s partners.

IV International Bad Video Art Festival

The fourth edition of BAD VIDEO ART FESTIVAL will take place in Moscow, Russia, in 2020.

We are looking for videos which are at the intersection of bad art, bad painting and bad cinema. We propose to study extreme forms of video art and single out certain video art works as bad videos or "B-videos". Join us if you are interested in the issues of quality and boundaries of art, or just love video art.  

We haven't had enough. We want more: 

  • technically poor (low resolution, over-/underexposed, unstabilized, wrong focus, poor sound or no sound at all, bad editing, wrong color correction) videos;
  • videos filmed without any purpose or concept, except the idea of making a bad video;
  • worthless videos of no special interest;
  • camp, trash, b-videos. 

General Conditions:

  • open to all video artists over the World;
  • maximum 3 works per artist;
  • deadline 31 December 2019;
  • free submission;
  • if your video has a language dialog other than English or Russian, use English subs;
  • maximum duration 10 minutes (if your video is longer, but you are absolutely sure that it is really bad, please, write us);
  • we don't accept stock videos, films made by children, family home videos, erotica, porn, films that include any forms of violence.

Moscow, Russia - Open Call for Artists

Art Number 23 is a London-based organisation, mainly responsible for curating art exhibitions inside the U.K. and overseas. The aim is to create opportunities in order to encourage and support artists from all over the world to exhibit and promote their work. 

 

We are really excited to invite you to submit your applications for our upcoming exhibition in Moscow!

The theme is free, meaning that we accept all types of artworks (figurative, landscapes, abstract etc). 

Artists of all mediums can apply and from all over the world.

We are looking for small and light artworks that are easy to transfer, such as paintings on canvas, prints on foam board etc 

The exhibition will be on for two weeks, with an opening event on the 1st November at the 

Zverev Contemporary Art Centre.

Everyone can submit their application for free! A small fee of £85 will be applied only to the selected artists for the needs of the exhibition. We do not take any commission from the sales.

Please note that the fee includes transportation of your work from London to Moscow and back.
