We believe that science and technology will not only shape the future of energy production and our environment: the arts have a role to play in shaping our responses and imagination. ‘Power Up’ is an exhibition of workshops and films aimed at children aged 7-12 years old, which examines how our use of energy impacts our planet. We are inviting proposals to deliver a workshop during Brighton Science Festival that responds to these themes and shows how art can help bring change and awareness.

Sunny Art Prize

The Sunny Art Prize is the first program outside of museological institutions and programs designed for artists that envisions the decentralisation of the art world as a way to broaden the horizons of both artists and the communities they engage with. It is a yearly art competition in the UK organised by the Sunny Art Centre with a selection of thirty artists who will take part in international activities, including exhibitions and a residency.

CALL FOR EXHIBITION PROPOSALS / ROOM 6.4 Artists and Mental Health

September 2018 – February 2019

"Madness is a gift from the gods." Plato
"We of the craft are all crazy." Lord Byron

Is mental health a problem or a gift? One in four adults lives with a mental health condition yet this illness often remains shrouded. hARTslane is offering a platform to examine mental health through the experience of artists and their work, to raise awareness and to advocate for the arts as a tool to wellbeing.
