Queer Conscience 2024 - 2nd Annual Juried LGBTQ+ Photography Exhibition

Juried by: Steffan Schlarb (Director of Schlomer Haus Gallery), Nathan Lomas, and The Image Flow Staff

The Image Flow invites photographic artists closely tied to the LGBTQIA2+ community to submit work to our 2nd Annual juried photography exhibition Queer Conscience 2024.

It is a precarious time to be a queer person today, as many forces conspire to limit the ways in which we live and express our very identities. Despite the seemingly relentless waves of legislation targeting queer and especially transgender individuals in the U.S. and beyond, the world seems to be growing ever more queer. New studies show that nearly 30% of Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQIA2+.

Self as Universe: Mending Our Collective Ecosystem Residencies

The climate crisis is an urgent global concern. Self as Universe: Mending Our Collective Ecosystem Residencies at A Studio in the Woods invite artists to explore the connections within our collective ecosystems and use the power of imagination to heal the wounds in the relationship between ourselves and our communities. Southeast Louisiana’s land and inhabitants are continually scarred by the effects of environmental degradation. These injuries – the historical to the present – affect our bodies, families, communities, and cultures, as well as the land and its other creatures.  We encourage artists to guide our collective response as the caretakers and caregivers to our universe while bringing wisdom, integrity, optimism, and even humor to intentional a

Gateway Public Artwork

The Town of Ashland, Virginia seeks qualifications from artists/artist teams for a new large-scale public artwork to welcome residents and visitors to the entrance of our historic downtown. The site is highly visible as it serves as the primary entrance to downtown and is proximal to two major east coast roadways, Interstate 95 and US Route 1.

Ideal works of art would create an arch or archway effect to welcome visitors and provide passersby in vehicles safe viewing access. We are not seeking a typical gateway piece, but something creative and dynamic that reflects Ashland's welcoming, quaint, and quirky culture.

  • Deadline to apply: Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 11:59pm Eastern

  • Budget: $60,000
