In Color

THEME
How an artist approaches color is intuitive and exclusive to their work. Personal insight becomes inherent as artists have a sense of give and take using color to elicit a connection. We seek work where the interplay with color is the central focus. Whether the artwork is riddled with vibrant color or if it's just one color that stands out and makes the piece, color is the subject for this call. Show us In Color from your perspective.

CALENDAR
Show runs in the galleries of the Cultural Center of Cape Cod from September 22-October 9, 2021
JPEG’s due by Friday, August 27, 2021

Request for Qualifications: Public Art Mural Frankfort, KY

The Franklin County Arts Council is seeking a qualified mural artist or artist team to create and install a publicly viewable mural on the East facing wall of Broadway Clay Building located at 223 W. Broadway in historic downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. There is no specific theme for this mural; however, the design should fit the location. Interactive murals that allow the public to engage with the work and present photo opportunities are of particular interest, as are those using trompe l'oeil techniques.

Opulent Mobility 2021 call for art

Since we are finally seeing a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel (and it doesn't seem to be a train), it’s time to update the theme of Opulent Mobility. We want you to re-imagine disability as opulent and powerful, and also ask you to consider freedom. What does freedom mean to you? Freedom of movement, of expression, of association, and of identity-- all of these are possibilities. Share your artwork that re-imagines disability, mobility, and freedom.

Chasing the Bluebird – online art exhibition

Applications are now open for our online exhibition “Chasing the Bluebird”. The Bluebird has a strong and positive symbolism in the spiritual world. It symbolizes the essence of life and beauty, joy, fulfillment, prosperity, and good luck. The blue color is a symbol of peace, honesty, and contentment. We are looking for artworks themed around hope, renewal, and a sign of an end to some struggle.  Artworks that are inspired by the Bluebird – in a literal or abstract way. From hazy dreams to quest for higher realities, from symbol of good cheer to a reminder to enjoy and appreciate nature’s beauty. Imagery that lifts our spirits. Artworks that remind us to open our eyes and appreciate the world around us.

- Open to all artists 18+
