Artvocate: An Open Call for Artists

Artvocate: An Open Call for Artists

We have set up an art platform artvocate.co featuring activist art advocating for an equitable future. Part of our proceeds goes to charities supporting the social movements.

We are in the process of expanding this platform, adding a range of static visual art that promotes equity. Our current focuses explore:

  • Climate Justice
  • Freedom of Gender and Sexual Identity
  • Refugee Rights
  • World Peace
  • Racial Justice
  • Gender Equality
  • Poverty Eradication
  • Mental Health

We are also open to any new ideas that you would like to inspire Artvocate as a new focus!

QUEER SEX EXHIBITION OPEN CALL

This exhibition will contribute a queer visual vocabulary to erotica, recognising it as an influential force in fine arts. With LGBTQ+ representation becoming more commonly widespread, our queerness - our identities, our fantasies & our practices - is at times sacrificed or fetishised in an appeal to acceptance.

Shucking off this approach, queer erotica lays bare the way our lives (within ourselves and with others) push social and sexual boundaries. Across a diverse range of artistic mediums, we celebrate, mourn and fantasise about our sex lives and selves.

This exhibition will create a prioritisation from which to value forms of erotica that not only invite a queered gaze but incite a deeper connection to the whispered meanings of self and sexuality.

Gallery Ring ALIVE Online Juried Art Exhibition

Gallery Ring announces a contest devoted to anything that is ALIVE.  Work that depicts living things or beings ranging from flowers and plants to animals and humans is eligible.

The fee is $20 US for 1-3 pieces.  The deadline to submit work is Thursday, May 26th, 2022.

Solo Online Exhibition Open Call

We are now accepting submissions for our online solo exhibitions, which will take place during the months of June - August.

Our goal with these solo exhibitions is to provide creators with a platform to present their work, in their words, regardless of experience level. We have opened this call to all creators, including musicians, writers, and designers, as we believe exhibitions should not be limited by artistic medium. Combinations of mediums are welcome and encouraged. Selected creators will receive a one month online exhibition hosted on our website, inclusion in our monthly exhibition catalogue, and promotion on our social media channels.
