Design the toilets of Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw

The Tubądzin Design Awards (TDA), organized by the Tubądzin Group since 2015, is a competition for architects, designers, and students from all over the world.

Within the CultureFORM category, Tubądzin, together with competition partner Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, opened up an additional special design assignment for architects - 'Design the toilets of the Grand Theatre of the National Opera in Warsaw'.

The challenge is to prepare a concept for the toilets located in the theatre spaces, separately for women's and men's toilets, including those for people with disabilities.

The project should contain the author's idea and meet the competition requirements contained in the Regulations as well as refer to the base materials.

The sublime climate in the representational spaces Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera is a reason for many Guests to experience culture and contact with the idea of the authors. To meet the needs of Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, we are challenging the architectural community to design the theatre's toilets, which should blend in with representative places in a coherent way.

The toilets of Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw are places that you can design and show to the world as your concept.

The SDGs Design International Awards will be held again this year to show good solutions to the world. We are soliciting creative ideas to solve social issues from students all over the world. There are things we can contribute to solving social issues! We are waiting for applications from the younger generation who are trying to solve complex social problems.

SDGs Goal 4 : High Quality

From Kyushu University, let’s show the world the “High-Quality Education” that students worldwide have thought up!

Intending to create an education in which young people, who will be responsible for the future, have hope for the future, value, life, and are peaceful and considerate of each other, we will discuss “High-Quality Education “ in the world and Asia.  We will share the “design” of the ideal education with students from Kyushu University and worldwide.

Theme 1: Let’s Design “High-Quality Educational Experiences!”

~Why not rethink the idea and process of education in our schools?~

In this era of rapid change, what is the role of education that is needed today? What is the goal of education?  What is the best type of education needed by the young people who will be responsible for the future?  How should we collaborate with companies?  How should Asia and the rest of the world collaborate to create better education for the future?

We are looking for design ideas that combine the following four keywords and ‘’ Education’’ from around the world.

The Trieste Contemporanea International Design Contest 2021 is open until 27th of February 2022!

Set up in 1995, the Trieste Contemporanea International Design Contest is advertised every two years by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee and it is open to designers from the 17 Central Eastern European Countries adehering to the CEI and from the Baltic Countries, Austria, Kosovo, Germany and Turkey.

The 2021 edition, under the auspices of CEI (Central European Initiative), aims to reflect on individual contribution we can make to sustainable development. Basic issues of concern are how to effectively change ourselves and increase our responsibility to others and to our planet. 
Once the participation terms are up, an international jury selects among the most interesting works the winners and a number of projects shown in a conclusive exhibition in Trieste, Italy.

Designers from 24 Central Eastern European countries are called to propose and design a basic object fit for serviceable use, iconic of the process of change underway. Contestants are asked to conceive an original and innovative item of contemporary design taking into account sustainable development objectives, while reflecting on new meanings and purposes, which also objects and tools take when addressing sustainable goals or facing contingencies (e.g. as it occurs during an unprecedented outbreak).

The contest is promoted by the Trieste Contemporanea Committee and is under the auspices of the C.E.I. (Central European Initiative).

The AlUla Design Award (ADA) recognises exceptional design inspired by the heritage, landscapes, and artistic legacies of AlUla.

The first edition of the AlUla Design Award is an Open Call that invites established and emerging designers to conceptualize and propose exceptional items for two tracks: Premium Retail and VIP Gifting. Submissions will be evaluated by a Jury of recognised leaders from the world of design. “Creating Change From the Bottom Up” Mural Exhibition | Open Call for Artists

Overview

The “Creating Change From the Bottom Up” Project presents an opportunity for selected artists or artist teams to design and create in an innovative, urban style painted mural for The Diaper Bank of Connecticut Volunteer Center located in North Haven, CT. The mural surface is inside a warehouse building occupying a wall space of 40 ft. (W) x 8.5-11 ft. (H).

The Diaper Bank Volunteer Center is a central hub of activity and primary workspace for volunteers from all over Connecticut who package and prepare diapers, period supplies, incontinence products and other basic health supplies for delivery to families throughout CT.

The mural design content is open-ended. There are no preconceived notions for how it should look. The goal of the project is for the mural to feel fluid, organic, and connected to the mission of The Diaper Bank of Connecticut. It should be about community members helping other community members and have a statewide feel without obvious diaper imagery. The mural will be painted with an emphasis on artist collaboration.

Full Description

The Diaper Bank of Connecticut and J Mane Gallery & Consulting are seeking artists or artist teams to participate in a new and innovative mural project in North Haven, CT. Eligible artists will be based in CT. Artists of all experience and skill levels are encouraged to apply. For this project, The Diaper Bank of Connecticut and J Mane Gallery & Consulting are seeking an artist or artist team to complete the mural by Summer 2022 for a Grand Unveiling event TBA.

This mural project encourages collaboration between mural artist(s), experimentation, and seeks a unique artistic vision. The scope of the project covers approximately 400 square feet. The design is not required to incorporate the entire surface of the space. 
 
All works must be envisioned as permanent and will be visible for at least 3 years. The artist or artists will be given 1 month to complete the mural. The artist or team will receive payment of $2,000 total to execute their mural (includes mural design mock-up, supplies, and artist fee for mural completion). Selected artists will be paid ½ of the artist payment upon signing an artist agreement, and the remaining ½ upon completion of the project.

Electricity and security will be provided on-site. A bathroom and cleanup station will also be available.

Artists applying must be based in the United States.

Artists must submit 3 examples images of work completed in the last year.

J Mane Gallery will hold an ongoing open call for artist portfolios online. J Mane Gallery’s curatorial team, including Mary Elizabeth Peterson, a New haven based professional artist and co-owner of Homewatch CareGivers of New Haven and the Shoreline, will make the final artist selection. 

The deadline to be considered for the project is Thursday, March 31, 2022. 

At the time of application, artists are not required to submit mural designs for review but it is encouraged. Once selected, mural applicants will be required to submit a preliminary design. Final designs must be approved by The Diaper Bank of Connecticut and the jurors prior to an artist beginning work on their mural. J Mane Gallery will help facilitate communication between selected artists for potential collaboration on designs.
