Carrying Across - Crossing Disciplines as a Form of "Translation"

For Interim's July issue, we are seeking work that crosses disciplines in the form of "translation." The origin of the word translate means "to carry across." While translation usually occurs across languages, we are looking specifically for work that is carried across one art form to the other, or work that seeks to create new forms altogether. Perhaps you've created dance informed by the structure of a particular sonnet, or you've taken a famous dance or performance art piece you found inspiring and translated its rhythm, structure, and images into a poem. We are looking for this kind of challenging work.

Old Town Keller Rotating Sculpture Program

The Keller Public Arts Board is seeking six sculptures that are appropriate for public viewing and support the family friendly atmosphere of the City of Keller. Sculptures are owned by the artist and are loaned to the exhibit for a two-year period. All sculptures must be “family appropriate” and pose no risk to public safety; no sexual, bloody or violent content shall be accepted. Sculptures must be made of materials that can withstand the harsh Texas weather and require no maintenance by the City of Keller. Pieces that are sold while on display may be removed but the artist must replace the sold artwork with a different sculpture, with approval by the Board, within 60 days. This call is open to Texas artists only.

After School – Collective Strategies Open Call

After School – Collective Strategies is a public programme consisting of a series of talks and workshops, running from May to June 2019, and culminating in a group presentation in the autumn.

A collaborative effort between pic.london and London College of Communication (University of the Arts London), the programme explores collective ways of working both conceptually and in action, and considers them as strategies that can be helpful, especially for early stage artists who often struggle in the extremely challenging period after graduating.
