Edition 3: The Enigma of Objects | Call for Submissions

CALL | The Enigma of Objects | Call for Submissions - Sept 2023

Edition 3 of The Enigma of Objects is accepting micro-stories about objects that emit sound and act as records of our memories. Open to artists, writers, musicians and others. All that’s needed is a photo of your object and 200 words about its relevance to the current theme :

The upcoming edition is titled RECORDS. I invite objects capable of holding music and emitting sounds. The terms “music” and “sound” are defined quite loosely for the purposes of this edition. The focus is on memories that live on in objects and nest in the sound waves they release.

UNITY

Photographers are invited to submit works in response to UNITY, images that have been created to express the state of being united or disunited, joined as a whole or torn apart, whether from an individual, collective or other perspective.

Exhibition will be curated entirely on the felt process - how the panel responds emotionally and somatically to works received. Felt Photographic celebrates the fundamental call to create - to help make sense of the world, who we are and our place in it. Felt Photographic believes that all art has value and our responses are entirely subjective, therefore submissions will not be critiqued, scored or judged - simply felt, noticed and appreciated.

Which of your images is calling to be seen? Which needs to be felt?

The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition welcomes artists from all backgrounds to submit artwork representative of the diversities, experiences, cultures, and traditions of the Latinx/e and Hispanic communities in the diaspora. Artists are not required to be of Hispanic heritage. All creations must be unique and original.

We welcome Natalia Viera Salgado, Curatorial Consultant and Associate Curator at the National Academy of Design, as show juror.
