This is a paid opportunity. Applicants must be based in or able to commute to location in London.

Responsibilities:

• Daily monitoring one working studio and one storage studio with 2-4 studio assistants, establishing and monitoring work schedule of studio interns

• Maintain good communication with the team both in the studio and remote

• Develop and maintain an organization and inventory of items and ensure they remain in their assigned locations, troubleshooting and/or proper use of studio equipment and accessories

• Establish policies for studio etiquette with regard to cleanliness and that the conditions of the studios are kept neat, clean, orderly, properly functioning at all times, and ready for studio visits

• Facilitate a protocol for archiving of artworks in storage spaces with appropriate signage, preparing and packaging those needing to be shipped, maintaining proper inventory throughout

• Monitor the scheduling of studio interns and assistants once established, maintaining communication with the artist, work with assistants/interns to adhere to protocol around using studios when the artist is not present

• Troubleshoot emergencies and report any major issues, otherwise staying in contact with the studio complex’s Security or a manager on duty

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a fine art discipline preferred.

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with limited oversight.

• Advanced knowledge of studio equipment related to fine arts

• Ability to troubleshoot technical and/or mechanical issues with studio equipment

• Advanced computer skills (proficiency in Google Suite and Adobe Suite preferred).

• Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously and set priorities.

• Position will require physical activity (lifting and transporting equipment, artwork, supplies, etc.).
