Artist Seeks Persons to Cast in Plaster

Artist is seeking people to cast in plaster for upcoming project entitled “Gagged & Chained”.

Specifically, we are seeking people who can be cast as Judge Julius Hoffman and Jurors from the 1968 trial of Bobby Seale (The Chicago Eight Trial), see below for the looks we are hoping to find. 

  
**Please be aware that the process of casting body parts in plaster requires you to stand or sit still for up to twenty minutes until the plaster dries. This process may make some people anxious if they tend to get claustrophobic** 

 

We do not cast in the nude.  We will be casting your face, neck, torso, arms, and hands. 

:::Dates::: 

Casting is open from July 1 through July 11, 2019.
You will be asked to come in for 2 to 3 hours on one of these dates.

Mid-City, Los Angeles; we will send exact location to you when your appointment is booked.

Seeking an innovative self-driven designer/developer to work with the AiOP director, annual curatorial team and staff to maintain the main site, create festival sites, and provide print/web collaterals as needed. This is an unpaid position. AiOP is a grassroots organization with no office, so candidate must be prepared to work remotely.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Designing/Editing layouts for all websites
– Designing presentations, advertisements, and any other brand materials needed
– Creating and editing graphic elements, as necessary, or updating/converting graphic elements into correct formats
– Staying up to date on all web related design and development trends

In December were heading to Crystal Palace to view and discuss the work of Johanna Kwiat. After graduating from Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, Johanna studied Fine Art at Working Mens College in London. She is based in London and currently works from ASC studios. Johanna is a co-founder partner of Art Brixton.

This event is free but due to limited capacity booking is essential.

The [STUDIO CRIT] is an opportunity for artists, curators, designers, film-makers and other practitioners to present their work to an audience of peers for discussion and feedback.
