Summer Social Media Intern - Fashion & Art Pop-Ups in NYC!

Parasol Projects is seeking a Summer Social Media intern to work two/three days a week. In this internship, you will be able to grow and engage in a network of artists, gallerists and fashion brands.

About us: Parasol Projects provides short-term rental spaces in the heart of New York City (NoLita, Soho and Lower East Side). Parasol Projects has supervised hundreds of successful art exhibitions, retail and fashion projects, sample sales and other events.   • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Resourceful and proactive, with strong organizational/project management skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Quick-learner

  • Creative and curious 


  • Proficient in all social media platform, Lightroom/ Photoshop, and other editing software
  • Great photography and video skills
  • Demonstration in managing and growing social media accounts with 10k+ followers 
  • Strong knowledge and passion for the art and fashion industries 
  • Background in marketing and/or communications

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage social media accounts
  • Post once a day to Instagram/FB stories with curated and scheduled posts (using Buffer or other relevant platforms)
  • Regram relevant content on Parasol’s accounts
  • DM potential clients through a list of targeted brands/designers
  • Interact with followers to increase engagement and visibility and grow our following on each platform, using appropriate methods and social media tools such as Tag Scout
  • Track and capture incoming sales inquiries via social media. Respond appropriately and forward to Sales Manager when needed.
  • Attend Parasol client events to capture content. Create 30-second recap movie clips and short stories.


  • Research articles about Pop Ups and contact the writers to inform them about us.
  • Collect press and mentions of Parasol and clients (to be added to Dropbox and Website)
  • Write one short blog post a month (300-600 words) coordinating with our Marketing Manager

Unpaid Internship / Meal Stipend and Subway Transportation Included

The Brant Foundation is seeking hard-working and enthusiastic interns for its East Village space, opening to the public in March with an expansive survey of works by Jean-Michel Basquiat. This all-encompassing internship will give individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of a non-profit arts organization. Successful candidates will possess exceptional verbal and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
