The choreographic body masterclass with Nicola Simone Cisternino 20-21 April 2024 - Tuscania (VT) Italy

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April at the Supercinema and Spazio Fani in Tuscania (VT) Nicola Simone Cisternino, performer, author and teacher of contemporary dance, leads the masterclass "The choreographic body" within Bo.A.T. - Botteghe Anonima Teatri, a multidisciplinary professional specialization course dedicated to actors/actresses and dancers by Anonima Teatri, organized by Twain as part of the project PERIFERIE ARTISTICHE - Centro di Residenza Multidisciplinare della Regione Lazio supported by the Ministero della Cultura and the Regione Lazio.

"My training and scenic path is placed within the world of dance and physical movement, developing over the years an increasing interest in the body systems that support the performer in his instinctiveness and specificity of movement.
The workshop will propose some practices to stimulate the perceptual input systems of external events and output in possible physical manifestations. On the first day, we will prepare our body for the integration of external stimuli and events, focusing on the importance of the function of time. The following day we will analyze the organizational possibilities of our systems of expression in revealing a clear physical action in the performative space, giving rise to variable narrative and dialogic interactions."

Nicola Simone Cisternino carries out a two-year training course in urban and contemporary technique at the Opus Ballet school in Florence. Fundamental to his training was the meeting with the dancers and teachers Massimiliano Barachini and Elena Giannotti. He began his professional career for the Loris Petrillo Danza company and the Virgilio Sieni company, with whom he established a relationship of continuous work that is still ongoing. He works with many of the most important Italian companies on the national scene, including the CANI collective, Piergiorgio Milano, Abbondanza Bertoni company, Cristina Rizzo, Kinkaleri project, Company Blu, Anton Lachky company, Aldes-Roberto Castello and Silvia Gribaudi. In addition to his work as an interpreter, he is also interested in and researched as an author. In 2016 he created the collective Sa.Ni. with the dancer Sara Sguotti. In 2017, together with the dancers Luca Zanni and Maria Vittoria Feltre, the research group Frames was born. Both projects give rise to productions that have won numerous national choreographic awards. He is a finalist of the 2018 DNA Choreographic Notes Award with the solo "Sobotta - Atlas of Human Anatomy", which debuts at Cango - Cantieri Goldonetta. Sobotta is the Anticorpi XL 2020 selection and winner of the NaoCrea call directed by Ariella Vidach, mention within the Aerowaves platform among the extra selection projects worthy of attention. With his choreographic project entitled "My Lonely Lovely Tale" he is among the selected of the Nid Platform 2021 in the Open Studios section. He teaches and conducts workshops assiduously for the Opus Ballet international training school in Florence and for the Atelier delle Arti school in Livorno. Former guest teacher for Spoleto Danza, Twain Regional Production Center and National Residence (Tuscania), Spazio Katapult (Berlin), Flic - Circus School (Turin) and other realities of national and international importance.

Bo.A.T. - Botteghe Anonima Teatri is an advanced training course that provides, at the spaces of the Supercinema and Spazio Fani in Tuscania, masterclasses on contemporary theater, method for physical actions, method for vocal actions, interpretation techniques, film acting, dramaturgy, contemporary dance, choreographic composition with pedagogues, directors, actors and choreographers of national fame.
