One Love - Juried Art Competition

Historic Manassas is seeking art for a juried and judged exhibit, held April-May, 2019 in Historic Downtown Manassas, Virginia. 
$2,500 in cash prizes will be awarded. Open to artists who can hand deliver their work.

Deadlines and entry fees:

Early Bird Deadline: Monday, March 4, 2019. Fee is $25 per artist.

Final Deadline: Monday, March 18, 2019. After March 4, the fee is $35 per artist.

All entry fees are non-refundable.
 

Requirements: 

Art will be selected for exhibition by blind jury, from digital images of your work. (Continue to the entry form for details.)

Each artist may enter up to 4 works, completed within the last 3 years, in any artistic media suitable for hanging on a wall.

All “family friendly” images will be considered, plus we encourage art which explores the theme “Celebration of Life.”

All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution.

Maximum size, 30” x 40” (including frame)

Work previously accepted into “One Love” is not eligible.
 

Venues:

Accepted work will be displayed in one of two venues:

Jirani Coffee House, 9425 West Street (Dry Media, Printmaking and Photo/Digital Work)

Center for the Arts, 9419 Battle Street (Paintings and mixed media)

Presentation:

Work must be dry, and suitably framed to a professional standard.

No clip frames, saw-tooth hangers or taped edges.

Canvases with gallery wrapped edges will be accepted as long as the painting is continued on the side.

Label the back of the work with your name, contact info (email and/or phone), title of work, media and price. (Labels for the FRONT are provided at the drop off point.)

The hanging committee reserves the right to refuse any work which does not meet these standards, or which does not match the description on the entry form.
 

Notifications:
Artists will be notified the week of April 8 as to which work/s have been accepted.
Winners will be announced during the reception on April 26. 
All decisions of the judge and jury are final.
 

Awards:
To be presented in each of the following categories:
Painting (such as oil, acrylic, watercolor)
Dry Media and Printmaking (such as pastel, pencil, etching)
Photography/Digital Art
Mixed Media/Other.
Best in Show

**The number of awards in each category will be determined by the number of entries.
 

Commission:
Each venue will process sales and retain a 30% commission.
Checks will be delivered to the artists after the close of the show.
Artists are responsible for reporting sales tax to the City of Manassas.
 

Use of images:
Any image submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to the “One Love” event.
