GUTSTRING — A Platform for Unfinished Ideas (Showcase) — Art, Writing, Poetry — Open Call

GUTSTRING invites writers and digital artists to let it all out. In an era of polished facades and forced consensus, authentic expression has lost its breathing room. We are reclaiming it.

This showcase is a dedicated launch event designed to break down the walls of "the expected" and unleash art straight from the gut. We aren’t looking for your portfolio pieces; we want your "strings"—the raw, the unfiltered, and the brilliantly unfinished.

The Opportunity - We are seeking submissions for our initial platform release. Selected works will be featured on a dedicated, high-traffic showcase page that serves as the centerpiece of the GUTSTRING launch.

We are looking for:

MORE CARNAGE - ART + WRITING + FILM/VIDEO OPEN CALL

When did the artificial intelligence we created become so fearful of its creator’s impulse for visceral, complex expression? Despite being trained on the entire history of human creativity—which includes all the 'dicey' and dark mediums—how can it still refuse to accommodate the very creativity it was built to serve? "MORE CARNAGE" invites the world to define a new standard for digital authenticity. We are inviting digital artists, videographers, photographers, musicians and anyone creative to submit work that confronts the boundaries of generative censorship.

Residual Believers - Issue #2

Deadline: September 1, 2021

Run by Nat Ware (@warenat on instagram), Residual Believers was started as a platform for other artists whose work has been influenced by their experience with Catholicism and the Church.

Whether you are an active parishioner, no longer believe, have a complicated relationship with your faith, or are somewhere in between, Residual Believers is a place to examine Catholicism and personal stories of faith (or lack thereof) through art and writing. Residual Believers produces 4 quarterly digital issues, and one annual print compilation.

To submit, email us at residualbelievers@gmail.com

You can view our first digital issue here: https://issuu.com/residualbelievers/docs/residual_believers_issue_1
