Video as art opens portals to other realities and to the experiences of others.

The 8th nodoCCS Video Festival returns to its on-site proposal in the city of Caracas, reaffirming its intention to "sustain and inhabit spaces" to generate encounters in a fragmented world.

The experience of the past years inspired us to go beyond the exhibition space and expand the physical locations of our projections, to generate global dynamics, new ways of collaborating and above all to articulate our work to this new reality.

This year's program will feature new dynamics of selection and arrangement of the works, exploring the metaphor of the portal as a curatorial form through which, on the one hand, we try to get in touch with specific modes of experience, histories, communities and world-building practices, and, on the other hand, we reflect on the preconditions, thresholds, regulation and the fundamental function of video as a gateway to other realities. In thinking about video as a portal and world-building practice, questions of access and exclusion must inevitably be addressed. What creates permeability? Who is addressed? Who has access and how is access governed? And who possesses the material and immaterial resources to be able to create portals and the worlds behind them in the first place?

The goal of the showcase is to create events of live music, projections, performances and art installations where people can enjoy the show in a relaxed, inclusive and friendly environment.

We are looking for brave and risky filmmakers, who like to explore with the sound and the different hints another artist can give to their images.

One of our priorities is to look after the selected videos and performances  we are showcasing and the artists behind them (social media and trough different plattforms), inviting them to attend to the event, when possible, and providing feedback to all of them.

Paradigm of modernity, since the first half of the 20th century, photography has become a means through which authors such as Florence Henri, Man Ray, László Moholy-Nagy, and many others, offer new visions of reality: all this is done by observing, analyzing and asking questions on several levels, such as a scientific, cultural, and social one, regarding objects / subjects, but also regarding the role and the deepest meaning of the photographic act.

Thanks to the advent of the digital world, its applications and its operational transversality, new techniques, procedures and conceptual approaches to the "writing of light" are today in continuous evolution. Contemporary experimental photography proposes new languages and new aesthetics concerning the experience of man in the relationship with the environment and its perception.
