2020 STARVD ART International Art Prize

The 2020 STARVD Art Prize program is open to all Emerging Artists* globally  (ages 18 and over) and we encourage all Artists working in 2D media - specifically Painting, Drawing, Collage, Digital, Print, and Photography (or a combination) to apply.  STARVD Art is here for you - the Artist “STARVD” for recognition! The Artist that has immense talent but needs a bespoke, dedicated platform to showcase their work. A platform that isn't mass market but focused on fine art as intelligent and moving as it is beautiful.  

The Art Prize is an opportunity to bring your art to the world. For those Artists based in ASEAN or Oceania, there may be further opportunities for us to collaborate and support each other! But first, submit your work for the opportunity to win some great career-enhancing prizes in the  STARVD ART 2020 International Art Prize!

Each year the Studio will select thirty (30) shortlisted Artist works to be showcased on the Studios web site, social media and international partner sites such as artsy.net additionally there will be a People's Choice Award and a Major Award winner from those shortlisted entries.

The People's Choice Award

- The People's Choice Award: will be chosen from 30 short listed entrants based on the highest number of combined follows and likes from STARVD social media platforms for their entry. 

- The winner will receive $500 SGD cash and 

- a STARVD ART Studio article about the artists work to be featured on Artsy, the premier platform for international art with over 2 million unique visitors each month.

Major Art Prize

The Major Award Winner: will receive $2000 SGD cash as well as:

- An Exclusive online Exhibition featuring the Artists work on Artsy (exhibited online for up to three months)*

- Non-exclusive representation by STARVD ART Studio (exclusive representation will be offered to ASEAN/Oceania artists who are selected)*

- A feature page on the STARVD ART website and archive in the finalist online gallery

- Social media promotion and support on STARVD ART social media platforms for 6 months*

- Promotion of your work to STARVD ART collectors

- A STARVD ART Studio article written by our art curators about the winning entrants work to be featured on Artsy, the premier platform for international art with over 2 million unique visitors each month.

- A downloadable WebApp (for IOS) of the winners art work as featured on the STARVD ART Studio web site (up to a maximum of 50 images)

Peripheral ARTeries is inviting entries for the competition to find the most interesting emerging worldwide artists in various fine arts disciplines.

The contest, on its 11th edition, comes under the sign of collaborative networking and will once again explore and show current trends and tendencies in Contemporary Art.

All we aim to is to encouraging artists to innovate and create: we cultivate a spirit of openness through a unique collaborative and participatory approach. Accordingly, worldwide artists at any career-stage can submit their works. Each artist may submit a maximum of three works or projects made in any technique:

Watercolors

J. Mane Gallery invites submissions for its Watercolors online juried art exhibition.  

“Watercolor is a medium that can be as demanding and temperamental as those who choose to paint with it. But it is a colorful and exciting medium all the same – well suited to describing the many moods of the subject, as well as those of the artist wielding the brush”. ~Jean Burman

For this competition, artists are encouraged to share their artistic vision using watercolors.  The theme can be any subject and the artwork may vary from realism to surrealism to abstraction. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Entry Fees

ENTRY FEE: $20 for up to 5 images

No more than a total of 5 images will be accepted in any one submission. An artist may enter more than once.

Payment is required at the time of entry.

ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

IMAGE LABELING: Image should be labeled as LastName_FirstName_Title_Medium_Size.jpeg. Example: Mane_J_Title_Acrylic_20x30.jpg.

Acceptable Mediums & Sizes

Painting, drawing, pastels, inks, pencil, encaustic, photography, mixed media and digital art.

Awards

Cash awards may be given to the top three (3) winners.

The First Place winner will be the Featured Artists on the website for the duration of the exhibition. Winners will receive extensive online publicity and promotion.

Depending on the number and quality of all submissions received, Honorable Mention awards may also be given.

Winning artists will receive a digital award certificate.

The artists will be promoted on the website, in online press releases to hundreds of outlets, in online event calendars, art news websites, and through the gallery’s extensive social media outlets.

Links to the artist's website will be listed on the exhibition page and should result in increased traffic to the artist's website.

J. Mane Gallery's objective is to promote the artists, worldwide, to art professionals, galleries, collectors and buyers.

J. Mane Gallery utilizes the Submittable platform to receive, process and jury all competition entries.

Butterbiggens Prize

The Butterbiggens Prize is an experiment to see if an art foundation can be productive on a micro scale. We provide tiny grants for artists in the form of fast food gift certificates.

A showcase for contemporary emerging artists, Every month a UK painter will be nominated, and receive a small bursary as well as an online interview and profile. Micro Fellowship fo UK painters, juried by a group of Scottish Art Students.

To apply, send an email  with as many as three photos of paintings, completed in the last three years.

 If you include multiple photos an installation shot would be helpful. We would like to get a sense of scale. Include dimensions and medium, CV is optional.
