Open format for all those who want to participate in the Festival by sending a single photo according to the theme proposed for this edition: Play

WHAT
To participate, each person must send a single photograph related to the concept of Play, understood, on the one hand, as the idea of playing and the power of play as a great testing ground in which we rehearse what is to come; and on the other hand, as an idea of activation, representation or initiation.

WHERE
The photos received will be edited into a video that will be available on the website during the Festival. 

WHEN
The deadline for receipt of images is from March 4th to April 7th, 2024. The list of those selected will be made public on April 22nd, 2024.

2024 Getxophoto Open Call

Getxophoto’s Open Call provides an opportunity for visual artists and photographers from all over the world to exhibit their work at the next edition of Getxophoto, to be hed in June 2024. The theme to be addressed in the 18th edition is Play.

The jury, made up of Arianna Rinaldo (independent curator, photography consultant, freelance photo editor, Milan), Ana Casas Broda (co-director of the independent photography platform Hydra, CDMX), Irene de Mendoza (artistic director of Foto Colectania Foundation, Barcelona) and María Ptqk (independent curator, cultural researcher and curator of Getxophoto Festival, Bilbao), will select 12 shortlist projects and 3 winners. The latter will be part of the Getxophoto 2024 programme.

switch 2023

The annual switch event will take place this year from 29th October - 5th of November 2023, in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, Ireland.

switch locates itself outside of the big city and locates itself in the rhythm of a smaller place.

Inviting artists working with film / moving image / lens based Media, to consider an application for switch 2023 responding to the theme of Play.

switch began in 2008 showing eight works by eight artists in eight locations in Nenagh town centre. For the 15th edition of this event we are making again an open call to all artists working with film, lens based media and moving image to submit one work.

New Buddy Bench for the Madrona K-8 Playground

Summary

Madrona K-8 is an Edmonds School District choice school.  It is different from the neighborhood schools because of the multiage classroom setup. Multiage learning encourages leadership and team learning.  Madrona Integrated Team (MIT) is our version of PTA.  Everyone is a member: Staff, parents, and students.  We collaborate to support our students to give them the best learning environment possible.

ALL GAME NO PLAY: 9th STIFF EXHIBITION PROGRAM

We are inviting visual, sound, and performing artists as well as individuals and collectives in other creative disciplines (computer scientists, mechanics, game developers, writers…) that deal with the topic of PLAY to submit their work for the exhibition program of 9th STIFF festival. We are inviting writers and poets who are open to letting their texts come to life activated by animation in space to submit their poems or short texts.
