Invisible Hopes

Open Call for visual artists to participate with their artworks in the exhibition “Invisible Hopes,” curated and conceived by Art Curator Paris Kapralos, in collaboration with the European Women’s Network. The exhibition will take place at the Alma Mater art gallery in Exarchia, Athens, featuring artists from Greece and around the world. The official languages of the exhibition are Greek and English, and a commemorative catalog – book will be published in digital format in both languages. The exhibition will also be available internationally online via the ARTgrID platform for one month.

Artists as Activists

The theme for the Arts Annual 2025 will be Artist as Activist and we will request work that reflects artistic thoughts and responses to that concept. Artist as Activist is an artist who harnesses the power of creativity to inspire social and political action. Unlike traditional activism that primarily uses direct action or advocacy, artists engage in activism through various forms. In this case visual art. They use their work to challenge norms, raise awareness about issues, and inspire audiences to think critically about the world around them.

Artist Open Call - The Gallery Season 3

The Gallery is a new kind of cultural institution without walls that challenges traditional models of viewing art. A major project, The Gallery exhibits contemporary art in public spaces traditionally reserved for advertising, to stimulate debate about the important questions of our time.

Launching September 2023, Season 3 of The Gallery will continue this mission, inviting artists from around the world to respond to the theme: No But Where Are You Really From?
“We live in a globalised world of international travel and mass migration. Over the centuries peoples, animals, plants and pathogens have continuously crisscrossed the Earth’s oceans and continents. So, what part does place still play in identity?”

Call to Artists: Politics in Collage Residency

A four-week, virtual/online residency with Kolaj Institute in September/October 2021

Deadline to apply: September 11, 2021

Collage as a political art form has not only a particular relevance to today but a strong historical context. From its roots in the European anti-facism and Russian pro-communism movements during WWII to its expressions during the U.S. Civil Rights era to its current manifestations in the fight for social justice in South America, collage has been used by artists globally as an impetus for social and political change.

Improbable Talks

During 2020 we actively engaged in exchanges with fellow creatives in order to connect and share our ideas and experiences. For 2021 we are ready to create and develop strategies for open collaboration where connecting, linking, exchanging and manifesting will be the core of a participative project.
