Call for Web Residencies No. 19 »Algorithmic Poetry.«

For the nineteenth call for web residencies, Akademie Schloss Solitude’s Digital Solitude program is collaborating closely with Liquid Architecture. The Naarm (Melbourne)–based art organization Liquid Architecture supports radical interdisciplinary experimentations offering a platform for artists working with sound – from our everyday data-driven world to the dissonant, beat-driven resonant sounds that defy definition.

Free Radio Pyrenees with Magz Hall And Andrew O'connor

CAMP is a residential arts facility in the French Pyrenees. It's a place where great art is made, new movements are formed, new ideas are explored and groundbreaking people are nurtured. CAMP is located in Aulus les Bains, the last village before the France/Spain Pyrenean frontier chain. The location is spectacular - we are nestled at 750m above sea level, surrounded by snowcapped peaks over 3000m high, ancient forests and cascading waterfalls. There are eagles, lammergeiers, vultures, ibex and bears. Walk out of the residency, and within ten minutes you are completely alone in one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Europe.

VISIONS OF SOUND

VISIONS OF SOUND: Noises, Rhythms and Acoustic Ambients

Free entry│Call for Exhibition

Photographers are invited to submit 1 up to 3 photos addressing the theme.

Group Exhibition in Rome or Milan city. December 2022

-

The theme of this call plays on the overlapping and substitution of different registers and interchange among senses. How could sound be illustrated through photographic representation? How can two-dimensional visuality replace the fullness of harmonies, or even the sounds of the spaces we inhabit every day? This call is for all the photographers who are interested in the documentation of sound through its iconographic, literal, symbolic etc.

Frame Rush 2022

Frame Rush, the annual screendance event, takes place in May 2022 at The Place for a live evening of screenings.

Focusing on movement and sound, this event explores the definition of the continuously emerging genre of screendance as an immersive sensory experience. Sound, Language & Position with AGF

Workshop dates: 17/05/2021 - 2021-08-31

Listening is a practice - it is a political act. Sound is a way of knowing the world; a way of orienting ourselves, of expressing, understanding and contextualising our position. We can use sound to make connections, to grow decentralized networks, to organise. The possibilities of language - political language, deconstructed language, poetic language - to organise these networks and connections is intensely powerful and nuanced. What is political sound? Or collective sound? Does it have a transformative quality? How can we make sound together, and decolonize our practice as an individualistic form of expression? What technology can we involve, develop or hack?
