This show welcomes diverse visions of the world outdoors. Here are a few ways to interpret what landscape art can be:

● Re-imagine everyday environments as new frontiers.

● Pay homage to pastoral scenes rich in heritage, or depict urban jungles thrumming with activity.

● Reveal the nostalgia of fading rural relics and uncover beauty in overlooked metro corners.

● Compare and contrast urban and natural environments.

After Hours

Midnight ravers, all-nighters, night owls, nighthawks, "last call"...or is this just the beginning?  Vestige Concept Gallery wants to know what happens long after the sun goes down.   After Hours seeks to showcase works of art that feature nightlife and/or, life, at night.  Works could be about bars and nightclubs, speakeasys, smoky lounges, filled with music: jazz, blues, soul, rock, hip-hop... to late night diners, the El-train, taxis, drag, drag racing, street life, gangsters, graffiti, hookups, drinking, sex, nudes, partying, and drugs.  Have a nightcap and catch the red-eye.  (But remember, keep it classy!)

We accept works from emerging, mid-career, and/or professional artists. Work should somehow relate to the theme of the show.

Scapes: Land, City, Hell

For much of art history, landscapes have offered the ability to view our world from a distance, allowing the elemental to become observable. Contemporary "scapes" untouched by human hands are all but extinct as we face the effects of the Anthropocene. When humanity returns to nature, either by choice or consequence, we may discover all that remains is destruction and demise. Imagine your images examined by future archaeologists. As photographers, you are documentarians and keepers of sanity in this world. What is your view of the land, the city, or perhaps of hell?

Urban & Street

The streets have long been an inspiration to photographers — offering nooks to hide, pathways to meander, and a psychogeographic web to traverse the collective narrative of everyday life. The streets serve as a hub of urban conversation, offering us a glimpse of the banal and unconventional, revealing and obscuring the connections to ourselves, each other, and our sense of place. How does your work find its locale in the complexity of the cityscape? Potential subject matter includes but is not limited to: architecture, cityscapes, documentary and street photography, found objects, and the analysis of our sense of “place.”
