Illumination 2019 continues the tradition, exhibiting original lanterns by artists from coast to coast. Cameron Art Museum recognizes the crucial role of artists and art in creating an exceptional quality of life for a community. CAM believes that art, like a lantern, illuminates the mystery, empathy and wonder of human existence. Artists are invited to submit proposals of original designs for this one-of-a-kind exhibition.

RIVERVIEWS ARTSPACE IS LOOKING FOR ARTISTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOW.

The 2019 juror is Joseph Krakora, the former Executive Officer for External and International Affairs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC for nearly three decades. Artists can enter artwork in any media and concerning any subject matter. The entry fee is $35 for 3 artwork submissions.

ENTRIES DUE BY 5:00PM ON SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2019

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place chosen by the juror, as well as a People’s Choice Award that will be voted on by gallery visitors throughout the month of November. Prizes are as follows:

Contrive: A National Exhibition of Photo Manipulation and Surreal Photography

Contrive is a national juried exhibition that features surreal photography and photo manipulation. This exhibition is open to all photography that involves transforming or altering a photograph using either digital or physical methods, such as long or double exposures, compositing, or digital software AS WELL AS photography that is surreal in content. Throughout history, photographers have created their own worlds using darkroom tricks and optical illusions. Today we can create our own peculiar worlds using real-life objects/settings, editing programs, or both. This exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States and will be juried by Amanda Bradley, and curated by d’Art Center Staff. The d’Art Center is Norfolk’s thirty-year-old art center and includes working professional artist studios and provides a wide variety of exhibitions and programming open to the public. The d’Art Center is located in the NEON district of Norfolk.

Artists may submit up to 3 artworks to be considered for the show. Only artworks smaller than 14" x 14" OR larger than 48" x 48" will be accepted. May submit a mix of small and large works, or all similarly sized works to the show.

Please upload a high resolution image of EACH INDIVIDUAL WORK. Images may be used for marketing purposes and will also be used by jurors to select artwork for the exhibition. Please label images with the artist's last name and corresponding number of the submission (example, Hazell.1.jpg, Hazell.2.jpg, Hazell.3.jpg)

All submissions must be filled out via this form. Jurors will be selecting artworks for the exhibition electronically and OCAF does not have the facilities to house artworks not currently on display. Therefore we can not accept any physical artwork submissions.

Equity Gallery is currently accepting submissions of artwork for our upcoming group exhibition, "It Could Be You: Portraiture in a Constructed World." The exhibition is looking to feature art which explores both the purpose and limits of portraiture, identity, and the self in the contemporary digital age. We are interested in works of all mediums and disciplines. Our panel of jurors consists of fellow practitioners and allied professionals such as Beverly McNeil, proprietor of Portraits. Inc, and portrait artists Patricia Watwood and Hyeseung Marriage-Song.

MADC's Move to Change Open Submission Call

MODArts Dance Collective (MADC) is elated to announce its Second Annual Move to Change Dance Festival on Friday & Saturday, November 8-9, 2019 7:30PM at University Settlement, 184 Eldridge Street, NY, NY 10002. The purpose of Move to Change is to use dance as a form of social justice and arts activism through the lens of people of color (POC). The goal of Move to Change is to create cultural and gender affirming spaces for artists of color (African, Latina/o/x, Asian, Arab, Native American [ALAANA]), MENA, & SWANA to present longer works reflecting their personal stories to influence their respective communities and the world around them. Seven chosen artists will present 8-10 minutes of a dance work on both nights and tech on November 7, 2019 between the hours of 6-10 PM with a lighting designer and a sound technician.

The 2019 open submission call is Monday, July 22-Saturday, August 31 at 11:59PM EST. There is no application fee to submit. All artists will be notified by EOD on Monday, September 9, 2019. If chosen, artists will sign a letter of agreement and pay a $75 non-refundable production fee + processing fee through PayPal to confirm him/her/their participation in the dance festival and to assist with the cost of the venue, lighting designer, house manager, advertising/marketing, and programs. Payment plans are provided if needed. Participating artists will present their work on both evenings, receive free photos, free access to MADC company and community classes, and a video of the performance piece, as well as an allocated tech/dress time, four lighting cues, and exposure through advertising/marketing.
