Chianciano Biennale is organised by the Chianciano Art Museum. The exhibition showcases contemporary art selected from all around the world presented across a stunning network of 13 distinct art galleries and museum spaces.

The Chianciano Biennale is located in the heart of Tuscany, taking place from Saturday 6th - Sunday 28th August 2022. The Chianciano Art Museum has been showcasing thousands of international artworks for over a decade, making this 2022 exhibition the 7th edition of the Biennale.

The Chianciano Biennale is a part of a network comprising the thirteen Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum in the town of Chianciano, all coordinated by Gagliardi Gallery. During the 2022 Biennale, artists and attendees alike will roam through the galleries to soak up the permanent collections, the Biennale and other summer exhibitions on display in Chianciano. The cluster of galleries are located up on the hill of the Medieval Old Town, falling back on stretches of the rich green and gold landscape that Tuscany breathes.

Encompassing over 100 artists and artworks, the Chianciano Biennale artworks will be meticulously hung across a cluster of the Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum. The remaining walls of the Clancianum Galleries and the Art Museum will glow with a showcasing of seven other exhibitions ranging from Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec at the Savoy Gallery to Giorgio Armani at the Chelsea Gallery. The full list of exhibitions and their details can be found on the Chianciano Biennale website.

There are no submission requirements for the Chianciano Biennale, the applications are open to all living artists without discrimination and wholly on the basis of the artwork itself. Great art has never been limited to established powers, therefore our application process is the same- no requirements, just submit the artwork you feel best represents you.

The selection process is rigorous and allows critics and collectors to admire works of excellent quality both in the Art Museum and in the Clancianum Galleries, where contemporary art creates a magnificent contrast with the historic architecture of the medieval town.

To truly honour the dynamic talent of contemporary artists, the Chianciano Biennale offers sixteen awards. A grand total of €2500 will be prized to the artist with the judged best work. Others include being exhibited at the prestigious London Art Biennale 2023, Chianciano Biennale’s sister exhibition, or an artist critique written by the organisation International Confederation of Art Critics.

Longevity and influence are married at the Chianciano Biennale and provide an unmissable platform for artists to further their career in an international setting. The hundreds of attendees are made up of critics, international artists, collectors and above all, a new audience and atmosphere to let your artworks expand in.

2nd International Contemporary Art BIENNALE

“NO standART. ‘no holds barred?’”

1 May/30 May, 2021, Online, worldwide

We don't have to be very insightful to see that the recent events around the world that brought us into a state of chaos did not come out of nowhere. Our generation is facing very big challenge. We are at the historical moment.

What does it happened with this planet, with the nature and humanity? The world is going through a state of shock, and this moment somebody is using to achieve certain goals. Is this what is called a ‘global reset’? And what does it mean?

If you search for this term online, you will come across a huge amount of information revealing the chain of coronavirus, its events, and their consequences. The shock created by the coronavirus (which is probably itself a “hoax”) to turn the world into a high-tech dictatorship that will take away your freedom forever: pharmacy, GMO, 5G, forced vaccine, biometric implants etc.?

Where did we wake up? What does it hidden under the words ‘new normal’? What does it mean ‘reset’? And what is under the words ‘no holds barred’?

We are separating and continue opening ourselves more and more to what is real and what has been an implanted program. At this time, we are under a very important passage for those who are ready to co-create in a new level, for there is a massive human gathering taking place.

Let us remember the Truth behind the many human illusions lets us finally dwell in the higher knowledge that we all possess within, and let us respect those who think different than us. The past no longer exists and the only way out is to move forward from living of old memories that only keep us attached to old scenarios in our current reality.

This year introduces time of changes where freedom, at all levels, will continue being our main task, for there is always more self-liberation if we desire to reach higher levels of consciousness, as there is nothing that takes us apart more from who we truly are.

IAF ANIMA MUNDI is organizing the 2nd International Contemporary Art Biennale “NO standART. ‘no holds barred?” and inviting:

Larnaca Biennale 2020 grapples with limits.
That which is definable inevitably grapples with the question of limits. What is really there is in essence the area it takes up, either tangible or intangible, real or imaginary. Limits change, expand, shift; but they cannot be annulled because then what they define would be annulled too.
In this paradoxical age of utter deconstruction, of a single globalized society, of a single device, a single social model, such notion could sound provocative, perhaps because we often confuse challenging limits with challenging their very existence. The first could be the definition of freedom, the second is a rather superficial version of it. To claim that there are no limits is equivalent to shouting at the top of your lungs to someone standing right in front of you: “To me you do not exist!” But to address someone means to acknowledge they exist.
Creative thinking has always trodden along the border but also, quite often, beyond the limits. The scientist whose vision took him outside the limits of his era; the poet in quest of the impossible; the artist defending to death the unproven – they do not fight to abolish limits; they fight to change them. For humanity, this is the fulcrum of progress.
Are there spaces that do not negotiate their limits? Are there limits in nature or is this a socially constructed notion? Can something exist beyond limits forever or merely for some time? And if yes, at what cost?
In the end, are there any limits?
There are, but they are limitless.
